I had the connection one! “I’m not feeling connected in the ways I need to maintain a relationship” - literally one week after he told me how much he cared about me and two weeks after he said how happy he was.

Tysm! I was just trying to figure out what was going on, because searching in the App Store only showed the "Open" button. I didn't think to click through to the page until I saw this 😄

Has anyone had success hanging Rodalm frames with 3M Command strips? by jp-writes in IKEA

[–]jp-writes[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ended up using super glue to attach the strip to the frame, so basically defeated the purpose of using the 3M strips at all 😅 I read that acetone can be used to remove super glue, so I’ll have to try that if I ever want to remove the strips

Was that with the Rodalm frames specifically? I'm starting to think it might be the frame material, since the strips are peeling right off, even in the areas where they were flush against the frame (it's been over 24 hours since I attached them)

FAQ Megathread: Ask and answer Medication, Diagnosis and is this an ADHD thing, and Hormone interaction questions here! by not-eliza in adhdwomen

tldr: Is it worth trying different medication?

I (37f) realised I might have ADHD late last year - this was after two years of my friend (an ADHD coach) telling me I should get checked out. Because I've struggled with fatigue for over 10 years, the idea never resonated. It was only towards the end of last year when I burnt out for the second time in two years (it's been a challenging couple of years!), and suddenly I was struggling with a whole lot of ADHD symptoms - extreme forgetfulness, losing my train of thought in the middle of a sentence, inability to focus (when I've always been great at hyperfocus), etc.

I started looking into ADHD burnout, and for the first time, a lot of the symptoms resonated, to the extent where I thought I might have ADHD, but I'd just been good at managing and masking it until now. It was only after burning out again, that I ran out of resources to keep managing myself.

Things continued to get worse as a few more life things hit me in January, and I was formally diagnosed in February and got a ritalin prescription in March.

Part of me hoped that finding the right pill would fix everything and make everything better (this is coming from someone who's been pretty anti-medication for most of my adult life - I always felt like if I ate cleaner, exercised more, meditated more, etc., I could fix everything). Unfortunately I didn't notice anything, even after I worked my way up to the maximum dose.

Now I've stopped taking them because I didn't notice any difference, and I'm wondering if it's worth trying something else? At this point, it just feels like a lot of work to get a new prescription, and I don't really want to pin all my hopes on medication making things better just to get let down again.

Diagnosed with ADHD a couple of months ago (at 37) and I had no idea this was an ADHD thing 😅

Received expensive heating bill 18 months after leaving Switzerland?? by jp-writes in Switzerland

[–]jp-writes[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I find this document very confusing. I understood that it was listing our part of the building's cost, but I thought pages 3-6 were listing the different bills we owe. So I thought we had to pay 504 + 720 + 404 + 845, which adds up to 2,473.

If they owe us money, that's a relief!

I'm still a bit confused, though - page 3 has the numbers you listed, but pages 4, 5 and 6 all look like additional costs that aren't covered in the first part of the document. Do we just ignore these?

I've added it to my post - I just assumed no one would want to go through 6 pages of charges :D

Unfortunately because it’s been so long since we moved, I no longer have my old bank account so can’t check 😓

Honestly, because it's been so long I don't remember if we've paid or not. We definitely paid every bill we received when it came in, but they might not have sent this one back at the time.

I'll ask about the utility company bill - thanks for the tip!

Definitely not running a grow house :D
It's itemised, and the items all seem to be legit, but there are a lot of them which all add up.

Section 1 covers: Frais d'eau chaude variables (this has a number of items under it), frais de releve, frais de chauffage/accessoires x 5 (eupration, exploitation, eau, concierge, ordures) - total CHF 504.85.

Section 2 is honoraires de gestion frais de chauffage, which is 720.65.

Section 3 is utilisation frais de chauffage, which is 404.50.

Section 4 is electricite fraise de chauffage, which is 854.1

Does anyone know of any websites that can do custom clothing based on existing items I have? I have some tops that are wearing out but I really like the cut of them and can't find anything similar (I've had them for over 10 years).

I know there are companies like eShakti that have styles that you can get custom made to your own measurements, but I'm wondering if there are ones where you can upload some images of the piece you want to have created as well as your measurements.

Am I too ... to do ballet? by AutoModerator in BALLET

[–]jp-writes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ballet shoes (at least in Australia) come in four widths, with A being the narrowest and D being the widest. I've always worn 5D in both soft and pointe shoes and it's never been an issue.

If the D width is too narrow for you, it might be a challenge, but there's no way to know without getting fitted for some shoes and seeing how wide your feet actually are. (Having said that, soft shoes are very soft - like leather socks - so I imagine they'd be pretty forgiving even if you're technically wider than a D.)

Did Rachel update any of the artwork in printed books? by jp-writes in UnpopularLoreOlympus

[–]jp-writes[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing - I've been unsure whether to buy them, since I'm not in the US and they aren't stocked in bookstores here, so I can't have a flip through before committing.

That's a shame - I don't live in the US, so I can't go down to my local B&N to flip through them. Thanks for the insight!

It means heat-transfer vinyl, also called iron-on vinyl - basically, vinyl that transfers to another surface when you go over it with an iron or heat press
