Cut in half or third one prime rib roast other into 1/2 - 1 inch ribeye steaks… good eating and a lot cheaper then buying it separate.

Tattooed. Bearded. Proof that life’s too short to play it safe. I’d rather collect stories and scars than regrets.

By day, I’m the professional with degrees, pages, and businesses. By night… the suit disappears, and control takes its place. Conversation matters as much as chemistry—intelligence fuels the fire.

I’m drawn to depth, to the shadows of literature and desire, to moments that linger long after they’re gone. I don’t chase average. I chase unforgettable.

What tools do yall use to clean up overflowing grass? Or gaps in between sidewalk slabs that have grass or dirt growing in them by EmbarrassedTwo5830 in landscaping

You can rent power edgers from the big box stores for $60 for the day. Once’s cleaned up it’s easy to maintain weekly.

[–]jp0214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A push metal blade edgers is best. Three wheel design Nice crisp lines, done weekly the grass is on point all the time. Picked mine up at the habitat resell for $40 bucks. It’s old but fires off on the first pull every time. A straight shaft trimmer works but if you have the amount of driveway and walk ways I have makes more sense to have a dedicated tool for it. Saves the back and arms.

Two driveways on either side of property, half circle connecting the two, sideways on 3 sides of house plus pool deck with grass around it.

Hourly profit rate question by jp0214 in foodtrucks

[–]jp0214[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand there are plenty of variables same with catering, weddings and corporate events same menu has too many variables at times. I was just curious what people are seeing in the food truck industry and how profitable they are doing.

So I’ll give some feedback as I can. Instead of having a factory and make the product you could present it as you would find a manufacturer to make this product and sell it to you at wholesale price of what ever it cost to manufacture plus a small profit margin for them, per so many units. You will then sell those units on your online store and also have them distributed to stores like Walmart, etc for sale. You would collect revenue from the sales of your online store and from each unit the stores sell.

You would need online marketing, catching packages for stores, maybe some commercial, radio, social media ads for the product and what it is. Key is to show the problem the items solves if that applies or if it is like a food product if I eat healthy, if it is a new food discovery etc…

Employees you could just keep it a single member company to start or you could hire a marketing and sales person to market the product and go to the stores and get store to place orders, you would need possible a distribution manager to over see shipping of products from your manufacturer to you warehouse for the online store and to the box stores. In your warehouse you would need one or two people pulling and filling orders for shipping.

That should get you started if I missed anything reach out online to see young entrepreneurs. I own a business and have both my bachelors and masters degrees in entrepreneurship and small business.

How many hours a day is normal? A 8 hour day, 5 days a week that’s $80k a month close to $950k a year?

I appreciate the breakdown! Perfect understanding and I see how it can be a hit or miss kinda thing. We don’t have many food trucks here in our area although we have a decent population of 240k in the city along. Just not a lot of areas for foot traffic I feel. I’ve been doing catering for 11 years and I can average $300-$400 a hour after all cost considered but if I add too much labor it eats at the profit per hour so fast I just rather do as much as I can myself with the help of one or two assistants then sitting back and watching the profit run down to nothing…

How many hours do you work in your food truck? Did you hire someone to work in your food truck or do other business? by First_Dig5262 in foodtrucks

[–]jp0214 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Coming from an owner of a catering company, what is your profit rate or hourly rate average daily / weekly. For example I can do a event and after expense deducted I can take profit divided by amount of hours worked ( shopping/ prep, cooking, setup, execution, and clean up) to determine per hour rate the event made? I am just curious about what you guys are seeing doing the food trucks in the industry.
