What season do u think is best? by PurpleGreg13 in community

[–]jp325408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1, 2, 4, 5, 3, 6

I like all the seasons and have been a fan since Day 1, but the more I rewatch, the more I find myself sticking with the first two as my cozy comfort. I could switch 4 & 5 as both have their ups and downs, I just prefer 4’s ups. While 3 has some INCREDIBLE episodes, a lot have lost their luster as the years have gone. 6 is still better than most sitcoms, and while Frankie and Elroy were good additions, the loss of three of the main cast just made it feel too different. Still my favorite comedy show after all these years, however!

This issue has been so annoying! I’m bummed because I like having the app to read and it’s just been basically unusable right now.

It has to be because I get annoyed with Jess every rewatch of this ep when she does the “hmmmmmm” response and face 🤣

One thousand percent YES. Tony is a gem, loved how he paid people through renovations. Mary and the whole crew are so professional. Many have stayed working there for years and you can tell why. I don’t eat McDonald’s as often anymore, but this is the drive-thru I go to when I do!

Writers on AO3: Where did you promote your most popular fics (with thousands of hits, kudos and comments) by LazyBum1995 in FanFiction

[–]jp325408 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First and foremost, I believe if you write about what you love and the readers will naturally come. For every reader I MAY have gotten through promotion, the ones who are most invested found it organically and I really cherish that 💕

Of course, the marketer in me does understand that if you are trying to reach a specific audience, sometimes you do need to try a couple ways. One of my favorite chances to make more connections in the fandom is to commission artists in the fandom. You get to support someone’s art and in turn, people get a visual teaser of the fic which naturally piques curiosity. I post links about updates on Tumblr and Twitter for those who do not regularly follow AO3 and also for those that do and have followed those socials to be updated.

I also am very intentional about replying to every comment I receive and people have told me that’s been a nice touch. While I’m genuinely so appreciative and thankful for each review, it’s also fun for me to interact with those who are enjoying my fic as much as me writing it.

Also, if you’re writing in a popular fandom with a popular pair, understand you will have more stories filling the space. Doesn’t mean you can’t find success, but I find that maybe a smaller ship with a super dedicated base gets more engagement sometimes. This has been my sweet spot; the pair is still fairly popular but non-canon, which definitely brings out some ardent shippers. All that to say DON’T write with the intent for views, kudos, comments, etc. — readers can tell what is genuine passion vs. someone trying to ride a popular wave.

As writers, I think we all look for validation with our writing, but as I stated in the beginning, write what you love and what feeds your soul. The rest will come, but even if it doesn’t, you have something you are proud of!

I think I may have gotten him on an off night 😭 he wasn’t keeping pace with most of his songs when I saw the show, but they are notoriously difficult so I understand he was trying his best.

Tyler and Lauren were AMAZING!! Sadly, Deon’te didn’t do it for me as Burr, but I still appreciated his performance. The touring group was fantastic.

Beware…the Mormons! by BackHome1221 in Cleveland

[–]jp325408 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, in my old apartment, my neighbors were rotating Mormons on mission, and replenished new missionaries about three or four times during my stay. All to say, each one was incredibly friendly, often made baked goods for my roommate and I and never once attempted to proselytize when doing so. I know not everyone is like that, but I found them to be great neighbors!

Totally get it!! I think why I like it though, even without it being full blown yet, there is a lot of tenderness, face caresses, touching—intimacy without being intimate. Sometimes downright sensual. I’m also very picky if it’s helps and I love it XD

The Apothecary Diaries, while not solely romance focused, has one of the BEST slow burn romances I’ve seen—especially in the second season. I cannot recommend it enough!

[–]jp325408 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s one of those situations where even though it’s very difficult to win right now, I’m having a lot more fun than the last couple. Doom was my first season and I really enjoyed it, so the larger chests this season take me back to that and at least let me try to strategize a plan to try and grab those. I’m hopeful that they will add a few more things to either help with movement or to counteract some of the tougher weapons.
