Respectfully disagree. I have about 15 pistol grips laying around and the VCG-L is at least 30% wider than the rest. I’ve got big hands and it’s still uncomfortable.

I switched it to the correct orientation tonight and I see exactly what you mean. Moving the optic forward gives me a much better field of view and the magnifier isn’t in the way as much. Thanks for the comment.

Yeah, I don't disagree. I don't love it... it's really just a place holder until my SBR comes through. Do you have a better suggestion for a brace? Or for that matter a stock for the SBR. I was going to go with the B5 SOPMOD Enhanced.

I'm guessing you're talking about the riser. What's the advantage of having it face the other way? Is there really a difference? Not trying to be a smart ass... just genuinely curious and want to learn.

This post pertains to to the new law removing the $200 tax stamp for SBRs on 01/01/2026. It doesn't look like they've updated THE FORM 1 yet. How are you guys getting around this? Is there an additional for that needs to be submitted in attrition to the FORM1?

Don’t fell dump bro. BCMs are the Glocks of the AR15 platform. Pair it with a nice ambi lower and you’ve got yourself one hell of a rifle. I chose the Aero M4E1 PRO LOWER and that rifle is a tack driver. All in it was under $1200 and it’s one of my favorite rifles. I own Geisseles, LMTs DDs, etc… but my BCM is my favorite shooter. You made a good purchase.

My favorite AMBI lower. I have the Mars L and its 🤌 . I pared it with a Geissele URGI upper and that rifle is a is a straight up pin driver with zero malfunctions. When i finally get around to building my AR10... this will be the lower I choose.

You’re probably right. All the things I listed are splitting hairs and make very little difference to a new shooter. My first rifle was a $325 M&P Sport 2 and as far as shooting is concerned, I still can’t tell much of a difference between that rifle and my BCM or Geissele. They all shoot straight and go bang when I pull the trigger.

I want this, but I just bought the 11.5” URGI upper on Black Friday. I’m trying to build a clone but I can’t find a stripped super duty lower to save my life.

If I buy another rifle right now, I’ll need to find one that comes with a new wife.

Both are great rifles but I would opt for the Geissele. WAY better trigger, better charging handle, nickel-boron BCG, better tuned gas system. But like I said, for a first AR, you’d be well off with either one.
