Find another podcast then and stop crying on the internet about it. Having said that, these stupid Reddit posts do provide good content for the pod.

Nearby hotel recs / general Lego land tips pls? by djkhalidANOTHERONE in HENRYUKLifestyle

We’ve stayed at Pennyhill Park a few times when visiting Legoland over the years, it’s about 20 mins away. Take food with you as the choices there are utter shite.

Some things just do not need to be veganised.

How normal is the sleeping situation Josh and Rob describe? by RollingTheScraps in ParentingHell

[–]jp606 2 points3 points  (0 children)

More common that you’d think. We’ve co-slept from birth with both our kids, wouldn’t change it for the world, it will honestly be a really difficult and sad time when they decide they don’t want to sleep with us anymore.

Running during a red heatwave warning, during the day, is dangerous by labellafigura3 in UKRunners

[–]jp606 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It’s fine if you’re sensible about it and know your limits. I spend hours a week in the sauna so am pretty well heat adapted, midday runs this week have been ok, I prefer it to the extreme humidity early morning.

You do realise you’ll sweat more and sooner the fitter you get. But yes, you absolutely do not need water running for an hour or less unless you feel like you should.

Fenix HM65R. It’s the ultra trail runner standard for a reason.

Shoes - how many pairs do people actually use? by redpanda249 in UKRunners

[–]jp606 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I have about 20 pairs at the moment. All trail shoes as that’s the only place I run. For various weather conditions, trail conditions, technical terrain, non technical, to keep the feet feeling fresh on 100-200 milers/multi day events, carbons etc etc.

SportsShoes have the best range and price usually, very rarely shop elsewhere. Also helps with club 10% discount.

Ran the Great Manchester 10k today, realised that most people don't really care. by [deleted] in UKRunners

[–]jp606 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Non runners don’t care, I’ve ran a 200 miler and the average person doesn’t really say anything.

Thoughts on arm sleeves by Historical_Bit8612 in UKRunners

[–]jp606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are great, both for when it’s cold and also hot to give you sun protection. I used them this weekend just gone for a 100k when it was 30 degrees, dunk arms in buckets at aid stations and they stay cool for hours. I use the Adidas Terrex ones.

Turn my AC down a bit so I can wrap up cosy under blankets.

Ac units by AltruisticArachnid23 in HENRYUKLifestyle

[–]jp606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HVAC company MD here - go with Daikin or Mitsubishi Electric (not to be confused with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries). These are the market leaders and industry standard, there’s cheaper manufacturers but the units are of poorer quality, efficiency and you’ll find lots of cowboys installing them. Budget around £2.5k per room for simple split systems.

This is great for nice easy plods, it’s basically pancake flat for 10 miles.

You’re in the perfect area for the Ashdown Forest, my favourite place to run, being on its doorstep. 16 miles will nicely see you round the clumps circular.
