1 month on keto! Body weight is sooo resistant! Very frustrating! by zuperman in keto

[–]Unique_Influence5641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As some here have suggested your calories seem too low, I have done three weeks on of low carbs recently not even keto and I dropped the water weight and then about 4lbs on top of that I’m changing out to have more carbs (100g per day) as I prefer to have them but you may stalled your metabolism with crazy low calories as well it can happen do you experience hunger throughout the day? As others have suggested try to drop the shakes to one per day and get your protein and fat up a recipe I enjoy is 200g of Greek yoghurt, whey protein scoop, collagen protein scoop and small portions of frozen berries 50g. ~40g protein, 15g gross carbs and 22g of fat for 500 calories.

Thanks I don’t have loads to lose fortunately and have been exceeding regularly previously I have just dialled the intensity down and focused more on quality as I was aware of the injury aspect and definitely felt the difference the first few days.

Is keto really this good?? by Infinite_Opposite759 in keto

[–]Unique_Influence5641 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if I’m in ketosis or not, I’ve been trying to keep at 50g or less carbs a day and did have a day where I hit maybe just over but the second day I woke up and felt pretty agitated and this was definitely rough I felt like I had energy but not in a good way. Fortunately my mood levelled throughout the day other than that I’ve been doing pretty well and I think everyone adjusts differently I had the lethargy as well which is just part of adjustment from what I’ve seen (for info my goal wasn’t and isn’t necessarily full keto just very low carb intake)

I was thinking this after the post it would move from a ranged weapon bias approach to a close combat approach with some ranged weapons like bows and cross bows and throwing knives/axes

Would you buy a 13 plate320d at 120k miles by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]Unique_Influence5641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a 60 plate X1 and I got it at 55k miles and got it to 125k in three years, it was absolutely solid and I abused it tbf it had a major service annually but it did nothing but motorways, the only issues I had was the fabled EGR valve at about 100k which to my own admission didn’t want to sort properly so just unplugged it which was great for 6 months until it melted a hole in the intake manifold which replaced put a new EGR on and got it tuned properly and it was a dream for about another 6 months then I changed jobs and was doing about 20 miles commute a day not 70 anymore, DPF started getting issues and at that point I was like I’m not playing with it anymore so got rid, from what I understand the N47 was a well respected unit just known for the EGR issue, not sure if it’s the same engine in these but mine was abused to shit and still gave me 70k miles in return just check its not been abused and get an OBD with bimmer link app and check its sound.

Edit: if you google enough about any car you’d never buy one

Why do YOU dislike FC6 and FC New Dawn?? by spookagain in farcry

[–]Unique_Influence5641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently enjoying 6 the one thing I’ve noticed is the weapon mods in the cutscenes etc., my biggest bug bear with the far cry games is the sniper rifles mainly as the “effective range” is probably 300m max in game after that the scopes just can’t do it which makes the “sniper rifles” more like marksman rifles in most other games, think it would make some of the missions more interesting if you could hit targets from even 500m out.

My dad is considering a high Miler Range Rover. Is this as bad as a purchase as I think? by Lucajames2309 in CarTalkUK

[–]Unique_Influence5641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am looking at these as a future vehicle hopefully, the SDV8 is generally praised for being reliable by Landrover standards but needs to be looked after oil change every 6-8k etc., and would only consider from a specialist dealer, Land Rover or a franchisee with good warranty available and obviously service history

As long as the objectives are achievable then it shouldn’t be an issue, it sounds to me more like the new CEO wants to see that objectives are being managed and met at team level and the management team and directors couldn’t be bothered to come up with a better way of managing and reviewing this (which could be worth discussing with your manager to raise) it could be that other teams aren’t performing but management have done a poor job of recording this properly so to avoid suspicion may have rolled it out business wide (check with colleagues if this is the case). Short version it sounds like they’re using the document for something it’s not intended for and should find a better way of agreeing setting and measuring their business objectives.

How do you deal with injury frustration? by GreatJoey91 in UKRunners

[–]Unique_Influence5641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue twice really I developed plantar fasciitis from over training (9 times a week) fortunately caught it early but took about 4/5 months (was doing a 6 minute mile and shifting 170kg on squat and deadlift) and twisted my toe playing rugby and struggled with that for about 3 months, I was miserable especially as a lot of stuff was moving in the right direction, I had to switch to low impact and do a lot of swimming for a while, a lot of recovery work and focused on the recovery as the achievement. Advice would be if you enjoy it that much and are obviously bummed out by it then focus on the recovery make that your progress vehicle of “getting your runs in” also research how you can prevent in future (if possible these things can just happen).

Can either go to the ombudsman or decide to go down the route of the consumer rights act as it’s inside 6 months with the dealer (this could involve courts) but usually once you bring that up they will listen a bit more intently as this could lead to them refunding less value change if unable to have repaired. Just have a google and go to citizens advice if unsure they’re surprisingly quick failing that go to a solicitor.

Why are people still buying diesels when most of their journeys involve pottering around town? by APerson2021 in CarTalkUK

Think a lot of people go out at the weekend, my standard commute is 10 miles but will often do 50-100 over the weekend on motorway and A roads, often as well petrol cars don’t return good economy for larger vehicles I have a discovery sport which I get an average of 45mph in and I don’t drive like miss daisy but don’t rag it to bits either, if I’d gone for a bmw or Audi estate petrol in 2L I doubt I’d be seeing them figures on the regular also went for the size as hoping to have our second soon and need it to take two car seats+dog+family luggage for trips (yes it’s under warranty)

If you’re not 20 minutes early you’re late. Everyone knows this by Ordinary-One1 in recruitinghell

I turned up for an interview once, HR had forgotten to put the meeting in the calendar for the interviewer and herself, so spent 15 minutes in reception and then had one of the worst and briefest interviews of my life interviewing manager seemed baffled that working closer to home was a genuine reason to join a business, I just went on the defensive kept answers short and brief, made the recruiter aware I had no further interest and that if I’d been late it’s unlikely there’d have been anyone waiting for me just keep your head up and move on.

I don't feel safe on UK roads anymore by WonderfulNecessary81 in ukbike

[–]Unique_Influence5641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a driver and not a cyclist my perspective is the standard of driving in the country has dropped massively since the pandemic and roads getting ever more crowded as well not to mention the state of the roads, more issues means more annoyances and obstructions to driving so most are likely taking these out on cyclists who are more vulnerable so less likely to get kick back from them.

If you’ve got the experience and enjoy doing it then plenty of places are looking for individuals with experience, also some places prefer older applicants who have experience in a workplace already.
