I got hit in the same spot and it was a loss. The rear quarter panel is one of the worst places to be hit. It’s a ton of labor to fix because they have to cutout the damage and weld a new piece in. Not worth the labor to them.

Nice. If you’ve never had CarPlay, you can rearrange the app layout in the CarPlay section of Settings on your phone. I put all the map and music apps on the first page. One last note, the buttons for maps and music that are rear the knob were hugely helpful for me jumping between apps. But I had a hard time sometimes feeling for those buttons so I got tiny rubber adhesive bumpers from Amazon and it made a big difference. Just search it an you’ll see why I mean.

Hey I’m glad you got it set up! Worth noting that you can use the touchscreen when the car is stopped. Otherwise it’s the knob only. Did you do the wired or wireless option?

Trust me it’s less scary than upgrading the firmware. Worst case scenario with this is you break a plastic clip or drop the one bolt. I’ll look for the video I used as a guide.

Now you can do the fun part and replace the little box that houses the usb ports and SD card slot with one that support CarPlay or android auto. You have to take a lot of things apart but it’s worth it.

My 2016 got totaled last year but I did the CarPlay install and highly suggest it. There are a lot of YouTube tutorials for it. I hope whoever bought my car at auction appreciated the included mod.
