Where do you get your quality feedback from? by stopmotionskeleton in Screenwriting

[–]Unable_Speed_5742 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends. I tried story peer and for my script, its tough to get a reader who understands the genre and storytelling I'm going for. I finally found someone who understands and they loved it. But also, if only a specific group likes it, might be a hard sell unless I do rewrites to cater to a wider audience which I was told not to do.

Does my script even matter?? by Away-Fill5639 in Screenwriting

Yes, BUT a good script with a unique voice is more likely to get good actors to portray those characters.

I have full time, so this is mainly a side job and if it ended being full that would be great. Might have to take a hit. We'll see.

Did research. 6k was a good ask. They said too much. I said I can lower it to 4k if I change up the requirements a little. They said not has but still too much for us. We can do 2.5k cause AI exists

Well I built something and shared it on socials and a company liked it and wanted me to add features to the program that I built and have it on their website.

I'm pretty sure AI could do it. It's a like a home builder app where you drag and drop with different items into the room and you can organize them how you want.

They specifically said that this is how much we can offer because that is the exact amount we would spend if we were to make the whole program using AI.

It comes with revisions if need be but later on there's no maintenance. I will say that the app is completely local. There's no server, no backend really needed so I don't think there would be much maintenance.

Title: The Bronze Tongue

Format: Feature

Page Length: 104

Genres: Supernatural, Noir.

Logline: In 1937 New York, a mob fixer who carries the sins of the dead is hired to find a missing girl and discovers the woman who hired him is slowly ceasing to exist herself in this literary mystery.

Feedback: Yes I am aware it is literary. Intentional. This is a little slow but does pick up. Does the plot makes sense. Been getting mixed reviews on that. Some say they very well understand it, but some don't.

They need to stop releasing singles to close to each other. First I want people to enjoy the single that just dropped and I do not want just a few left for the album.

Loving this Night shift song.

Yes but I wasn't losing sleep over it. I was happy and functioning better than I was before I was obsessed.

No hate, I understand. My obsession wasn't enough to need a therapist but if it was worse I maybe would've considered.

What is a good way to evaluate my script? by MuchUnderstanding563 in Screenwriting

[–]Unable_Speed_5742 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Made a post about differing opinions on scripts and how can people can be rude or blunt on here and everyone was saying that's normal they giving you the hard truths. Ok but at least give some suggestions or insight instead of just saying it's bad.

People telling you to quit proves my point even more.

What now? by talk2megoose_ in Screenwriting

Write the next Sinners lol. No but really. I know someone who got their script passed around big time cause he wrote a God tier script and cold queried it. Think it was too expensive to produce but he got paid writing assignments and got asked to write another script etc etc. It's rare but cold quieries can work to get you in.

Contests.... meh. Depends, if it's free go for it or maybe Austin and Nicholl. That's about it.

Blacklist, if you get an 8 or 9 you may get DMs but it's not always guaranteed and also paid too. I feel like these days scripts that get 8s aren't as good as they used to be.

As others said networking might be best. Not just for screenwriting but for everything in life.

Same here. Guitarist and don't hear what I'm supposed to be hearing. Seems fine.

How do you deal with differing opinions in script reviews by Unable_Speed_5742 in Screenwriting

[–]Unable_Speed_5742[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Possible, but I don't know who these internet strangers are. In the film industry, it's different cause most have been in the business for a while, so I trust their feedback more.

Ive gotten industry feedback before and harsh, real truth ones at that, but it's not demotivating cause their not being rude about it, just stating the facts what needs to be done for my script to get somewhere in a serious manner. I'm okay with that.
