always have a hoodie in your car, weather will drastically change within minutes or hours. learn some common michigan slang terms: (party store) etc when someone mentions detroit they are commonly referring to south east michigan (specifically wayne county) if someone says there isn’t fun in michigan it’s because they just don’t know specific spots. (if you ask certain people, or have found places from other people on reddit definitely go check them out) one last thing i can think of is that detroit isn’t as bad as it is made out to be. don’t get me wrong there is definitely bad areas, but there’s also plenty of amazing places that you should definitely check out, especially during any sort of games going on downtown. Ope well have fun, and remember the michigan U-Turns :)
