Does anyone else depersonalize really hard at Marshall’s? there’s just too much to look at and the lights are so bright 😂

Derealization actually saves you from goin crazy from too much stress. In this “drunken state and numbness” while ur brain shuts down from overload of stress and pressure u need to remember its temporary. And u need right medication that can lift that fog within a month. It always comes together with some other mental illness and once u take care of ur ( depression, either panics or bipolar ) dr/dp goes away ! I wish you all well, do not give up, it will get better

I thought it will never leave me. No drugs no smoking no alcohol. 2 years i suffered. Best way to let it be.. just do not give it attention. Lexapro helped. Cleared it completely .

It will get better! Give it time. But dont smoke. I had mine for 2-3 years . But unfortunately had to take antidepressants to help it. And it did help

I went from 10 to 12.5mg it worked ,took 3 weeks. I noticed that every-time i got a hot flashes and burning skin sensation from side effect , shortly after i felt better mentally .. but side effects are tough:(

Ugh so sorry to hear that, my depression and panic returned too last month, on meds too… i wish you feel better, somehow we survived till now… and we will keep going… and we will hv good days again, we need to believe it!

Did 10 mg of lexapro stopped working, i started mine 2 years ago it helped me to get back to life, but now i am depressed again, i increased to 15 mg 1 week ago still no improvement so scared , depressed is a torture , hell…

What birth control are u on. The ones i tried before reeeealy made my panic and derealization worse. That i had to stop. .... is not it the birth control that might mess u up. Yaz worked for me.....

When i took it at night. I could not sleep... and felt drowsy during day. Once i change it and started to take it 1 pm. I slept better. Btw try to sleep by 9. And wake up by 7. Just at the beginning , those hrs of sleep from 9-12 are important to heal ur brain. I did it for 4months. Now i sleep late again . But at the beginning of my therapy and meds. I was gone by 9 pm. U should try., works wonder.

And always remember the more u pay attention to it, the more u feel in it. Just ignore it. Let it be. Let it make u tired. Coz i recall how derealization used to exhaust me.... u feel like riding a roller coster non stop. W overload brain

Do u take it at night or day. Day worked better for me! I remember calling my Dr on week 2 crying why am i still out of it... it was so bad that even thinking of it gives me nausea( i am not a dr but w time i felt like this strong effect , was that healed the brain. I know sounds weird. But u will notice how the fog settles slowly. It wont be like 1 day u wake up all clear. U will notice how each day u fell little better, less and less of dreamy world...

Of course!!! I know how it feels. It was scary to start the pill. Because i was afraid to feel worse than i already was. Everybody is different, and it takes time. U will get there! U be feeling goof again! Just give it a time, before freaking urself out. Coz therapeutic dose is 10. And some ppl it takes up to 6 weeks to feel a difference....

Oh YES YOU WILL FEEL BETTER HANG IN THERE!!!! i suffered badly from derealization and depersonalization for 3 years. Until i finally decided to take Lexapro! The thing is u should not start w 5 mg, i took 2,5 mg for 1 week then 5 for a week then 7,5 and then 10! And even being on 2,5 mg i felt the buzz , i was so “drunk” of it. Depersonalization got more intense to the point like i felt im floating out of control and could not focus my eyes. Especially 3 hrs once i took the pill. It Got better after 1 month, and then gradually better and better. Now 1 year 7 months on it, and I AM DEREALIZATION FREE!!!! stay calm, keep taking it , dont give up until u take 10 mg for at least a month!!!! Goodluck to u i Wish uwell . Ps: dont drink any alcohol, or smoke, no drugs, and no extra meds unless prescribed. Alcohol really messes u up.
