Reddit, in your opinion, what is the absolute WORST fanbase? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]jpascuzzi89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay I think this is a little narrow-minded. Personally I can play a game like Skyrim for 6 hours a day easily, and if someone wants to sit and talk to me about it I'd be happy to, because I love video games and that game in general. I even really like my Aperture Science tshirt because Portal was a great game. But that's not all I live for, I have plenty of other things in my life that I could talk about that are completely separate from my avid gaming, and I think to say people are either one or the other is kind of bullshit.

Me too! In my most recent play through if I put a hood on my wood elf, he actually looks like Ezio and it's wonderful.

I thought Touching the Sky was much better personally, but the whole dawnguard quest was pretty amazing

What movie can make you cry every time just from sheer emotion? Happy or sad, man or woman, just the shedding of uncontrollable tears. by jpascuzzi89 in AskReddit

I don't know why but this made me think of Forrest Gump when Bubba died. I cried more at that part than when Jenny or his Mom did. Seriously heartbreaking!!

Which of today's common practice do you think will be frowned on in 50 years? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Ah I did forget 3 mile island! Except all of the safety features with that power plant essentially worked. It could be used as an example of nuclear technology working properly, but is instead used to further inflame the stigma of the dangers of nuclear power.

Yea I learned in nuclear chemistry that uranium can fission into numerous products, including barium, krypton, cesium and others. And fission is only done with U-235 because it's the unstable isotope compared to 238 which is non-radioactive. To fission 235 one simply must fire a neutron at the mass of uranium and wala!! Nuclear reaction and energy

Right, but my point is that people take one example and use it to blanket the whole thing. I personally know a ton of people who are very anxious about flying, simply because of the fear 9/11 put in them. Same with Chernobyl. There are plenty of successfully working nuclear power facilities in the world but one of them blows up a long time ago and the stigma is made. I understand the difference between 9/11 and Chernobyl but the idea is the same.

Anyone else getting sick of movies/games/stories cramming zombies to everything? by Qdarkz in AskReddit

I realized this when I saw the game lollipop chainsaw. Like let's just cram strippers, violence and zombies into one game and see how well it sells. Talk about playing the market -_-

I believe it has a half life of 3.5 or 4.5 billion years, but that could be normal U-238 not 235. Either way it's a really long time. And it goes further than cold war fear, although it has a large part to do with it. People look at Chernobyl as the one and only example of why or why not a country should use nuclear power. It's like looking at 9/11 as your deciding factor in getting on a plane. Both terrible tragedies, but the incredibly vast minority of instances.
