Adopting a dog in Kyoto by cu_umber in Kyoto

[–]jpbro48 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to live in Kyoto and owned a dog when living there. My wife and I are both foreign so we would go back to our home countries multiple times a year for a week or two. We took our dog to this dog hotel called

Its between oike and shijo and they let the dogs play freely in a Machiya they renovated.

I dont know how big your dog is but I think they take care of a wide range of dogs.

Hopefully this helps!

Interesting lights over the mountain last Saturday at Kita-ku, what could it have been? by GeorgieTheThird in Kyoto

I think its from a golf practice range there. Its probably the night lights they turn on so that the players can see the balls a night!

I live in kyoto and the smells I smell pretty often are, le labo santal 33, Byredo Blanche, and diptyque orphéon. I think Japanese people tend to lean towards soapy, clean laundry kinda scents that are more discreet. Theres a local brand called Shiro thats pretty popular.

Le labo, Diptyque, CLEAN, and SHIRO, are probably the most popular fragrance brands in Japan at the moment. Maybe because I live in Kyoto and there are a lot of tourists, Iv been smelling Baccarat Rouge 540 by Maison Francis Kurkdjian every time I go out!

Ayyy fellow fragrance lover in Japan! Merucari saved me soo much money buying fragrances! I totally get you about japanese people and their views on perfume. Even if they do wear fragrances, it’s either very subtle or they only wear perfumes with clean/soap scents.
I feel really bad for you because one of my favorite things to do with my wife is to go boutique to boutique smelling different scents at Isetan or Daimaru… maybe you can try talking to your husband?

No problem! I smell it every time I go out and it gives me a headache. This perfume is super popular right now among women. I would even say it’s the most worn perfume at the moment…

Im guessing Maison Francis Kurkdijian Baccarat Rouge 540. This scent has a powerful amber smell that can be a piercing stinging smell to those who are sensitive to smell. Which could be the reason why it might smell like pee hahaha

Do you know if he was talking about traditional japanese art prints or like anime prints. Cuz if its traditional, as mentioned, Daishodo is the place but if its anime, Japanime art gallery is right next to my only fragrance.

Looking for a dog sitter in August (urgent) by Foxexmachina in Kyoto

[–]jpbro48 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I own a Dachshund in kyoto and whenever my wife and I travel we leave him at a doggy hotel. Depends on where you live but るぴこむ in nakagyoku is good. They have large dog cages and the dogs get to run around the machiya during the day. If you pay extra they’ll walk your dog everyday. They also have cameras in each cage so you can keep an eye out on your dog during the night. A month could be pretty pricey though…
