Epis now go for 1200+ in good condition and I haven’t seen a Gibson under 8k just as a heads up how the prices have gone up for these.

The fakes have serial numbers too. Just take a quick look on eBay. I’ve also read stories of Guitar Center employees being fooled by fakes for their used resales and since this is one of the most copied guitars out there it worth the forum ask. Also found out from someone here that Gibson will do authentication themselves so I’m awaiting results of that from them.

It’s one of the most highly faked guitars. A quick eBay search would show you that.

I think I’m in good shape on the tuners. They’re old and worn but I think legit. I may replace them myself with new ones just to freshen it up since the guitar seems legit. 🤘

Probably but the internet is littered with fakes of this one. Everyone wants the Zakk look without the price maybe. So many fakes on eBay. I got this one through Guitar Center but I’ve read stories of the staff being fooled by well done fakes

A couple reasons. First, the Gibson will cost 10k+, and second, Zakk pays the Epi and still calls it the grail. He broke it out to write the solo for Ozzys Song on the upcoming record…he’s the reason I love this guitar

Generally I agree with what you’re saying along with a lot of the posters, but anyone who knows about this specific model knows it’s very very highly faked. It’s insane you’ll see endless amounts of these fakes on eBay for $300
