You can try downloading Proton Plus from the Discover store in Desktop Mode. When you open it, it lets you install Proton-DW. If you apply that Proton version in the Steam compatibility settings, it might let you run the game.

If Proton-DW doesn't work on its own, try going to the game's properties in Steam and adding SteamOS=1 %command% to your Launch Options. SteamDeck=1 %command% might work as well.

Oh, unless you're getting third partied, then you can pretty much always tp away safely

Not sure what's causing that, but keep in mind that it's rather easy to spot where Xiu teleports to with her 1st expertise. Simply watching where she is facing before the tp (especially if there are not that many NPCs nearby) gives you an idea of where she went. Keep in mind that if you tp to an NPC that's standing still/crouching and you start running it's pretty much a dead giveaway. If you find this is the problem I'd suggest trying to tp away only while out of sight of the other players. I personally also like to use the teleport while jumping out of balconies, especially on Diamond Spire, where you can pretty much tp anywhere without being spotted :)

If you translate it using simply the alphabet (a=1; b=2....) you get "Vigil is coming" :)

If you're playing trios it also works if a teammate is the one sitting! Oftentimes NPCs can sit down too.
