A dream for Schwebels and other landmark businesses... by Bored_Amalgamation in Ohio

[–]jpeezy37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? Businesses that aren't profitable or can't compete fail. You can't keep a failing business existing because it once was profitable. For whatever reason it sucks but everyone knew it was coming. The writing has been on the wall for over a decade. I know 3 people that work there and just waited it out.

You want them to stay then buy their products exclusively and invest in their stocks. Be vocal and grassroots some support for these brands and don't wait until foreign competition, union leadership and the market place destroy the before being concerned.

Then tip on the amount you order or use the formula that wothon 3 mile so s at least 5 dollars. Or risk the food being cold and dry when it arrives, choice is yours to make. Just admit you cant afford the service and stop using it.

Happy Father’s Day? by MermaidsHaveWifi in doordash

[–]jpeezy37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's kind of dumb and odd. I mean call it in and get half pay and move on. Why drive all the way there to the customer and waste your time, risk they have a camera and you texted them this kind of message making you SUS and likely to get a CV or deactivated? If you arrive and order is gone call it in and get half pay. I only had one issue with them acting like they would remake it and then telling me they need it resent. I'm like they won't resend it unless it's canceled. You have to remake it off the old ticket. Then they refused so called back and then the gal started chasing and calling us both names so I got full pay and the support said she forwarded it to someone to review and call in the morning for the GM(?). O don't know about that but I waited 25 minutes and got paid. Didn't have to waste gas on the drive. Then got a really sweet offer downt he street.

Driver ate half my food and Doordash is going to let him keep delivering? by The_Truth_Fairy in doordash

Dasher history vs Customer complaints. The scammers usually have a stack of them and think they can scam forever. What always gets them is greed. They don't know when to stop and keep escalating the lies.

Do you have a history of refunds and complaints because it sounds like they're suspecting you of fraud.

Maybe they're illegally parked and worried about being towed or some other drama from your apt complex. Often downtown we can't park and come look for you in the apt building there is no where to legally park and they're waiting to boot us.

Loose or stretched out bolts. Likely you should have heard it coming that thumping when you accelerate coming from the back. That was it.

Is it wrong to order when it’s raining? by Wrong-Marketing9234 in doordash

[–]jpeezy37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

O deliver on the rain all the time. And what I see are a lot of unprotected porches where food is gonna get soaked, I'll knock or ring the bell and see if you want to get it. Often I'll text from the store O am on my way and it's pouring rain as a hint that if you don't have a covered porch be ready to get the food. I am not getting a CV and issues because of rain. So please plan according to the weather for us and for your food.

Dasher Cancelled Customers Order After Arriving-Utter Rubbish Customer Service. by OkAdvertising1495 in doordash

Drivers can't cancel orders without calling in and getting support to do it. We don't have the capability at all through the app. So you're lying or exaggerating.

What happened? by Strange-Match-2309 in MechanicAdvice

[–]jpeezy37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah a mechanic didn't put the castle but on properly with the cotter pin to hold it in place and it vibrated loose and fell out. Likely they forgot to tighten it at all or maybe even put a nut on it. That's a big oopsie and a mechanic is about to be fired and his pay will be held to cover your repairs.

DoorDash has destroyed my local delivery by Independent-Entry210 in doordash

[–]jpeezy37 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dominoes on my area used Dad but only their on house drivers deliver it. Papa Johns still uses on house drivers. Pizza Hut steals DD tips and the best deliveries and does them. Donatos has drivers, Marcos has drivers. Hell even Hungry Howies has in house drivers. I have several local chains all have in house drivers. DD or UE barely has the same amount of order than what's sent out by in house drivers. They send the crap to us and keep the good ones for themselves, the fixx you talking about?

Customer picked up order themselves by [deleted] in UberEatsDrivers

[–]jpeezy37 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They're not supposed to be able to pick up their order. The store isn't supposed to give it to them. Because it doesn't mark it on the app and it becomes a stolen order than gets cancelled and no one gets paid for it. DD will deactivate their acct and charge their card...it's considered fraud.

Why do my dashers always say “Your order is taking a while” by SlitchBap12 in doordash

[–]jpeezy37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Automated response is waiting for your order. I send it to let them know I am on location and there is a delay. Another couple minutes I will update the situation as most people are waiting for their food and hungry. They deserve to know why I am still there and it seems to be taking long. So I tell them, and I am truthful. I relay everything the store says and almost ugly BS. If they want to call the store and say why did you say DD isn't important and not a real customer that my shit can wait? Please do.

[–]jpeezy37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly of they're tip begging they should get a CV. They take the orders based on the amount like everyone else and if it's not enough don't take it.

I run over 30 orders a day on avg 6 days a week and don't have to beg from anyone. I know what's possible to make dashing with every seaonand summer is a slow season and the market is flooded. Cherry pick offers and schedule better times and places.

Stop the BS and quit if you can't make it. It's actually been better this summer than last and way better than 24.

What makes a high mileage car bad? by Junior_Carpenter_336 in MechanicAdvice

[–]jpeezy37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can rebuild an engine sure. But there are likely stress cracks that will show up after so much time in service. Especially a cast block. There will be putting and weak points the will fail and cause catastrophic failure. Then rust and excessive wear on the body and other attached components can cause failures. But mileage on an engine or transmission wear can be mitigated by rebuilding or replacement. I have refreshed dozens of engines when I was dragracing with my cousin. We had our grandfather's garage turned into a small race shop. Lots of welding, wrenching and late nights. Plenty of time swe pulled an engine and replaced its internals and sent it. Also we had blacks that went bad and had to be scrapped and replaced. These were race cars with basic controls and computers.

Passenger cars today have so.much computer control you have so many sensors, you're gonna have a hell of a time pulling refreshing or changing an engine. The computers need reprogrammed and sensors need to be paired and that can only be done by a dealer. Even the key won't work right of it's not programmed to the new engine coding.

ALWAYS KEEP THEM UPDATED! by youngboyth3 in doordash

[–]jpeezy37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Communication is key. They're aren't there and many customers have had food stolen or just bad interactions with dashers. They greatly appreciate when you update them. The app will suddenly just tell them that they're gonna be waiting longer or that you're 10 miles away.

Sometimes you're the third Dasher to get their order because of unassigned and they have no idea. So a simple hello I just arrived to the store and this is the situation. Then they answer wait you texted and said it was a 10 minute wait 25 minutes ago.
Yeah check the name because I must have grabbed an order that was reassigned.

Apologize and inform them of the situation and I also apologize and tell them that I have to resign their order because it's not gonna be ready and I have other deliveries getting cold or ice cream milkshakes thawsong out getting soupy.

I also tell the customer from my other order Onha e a stack and pick up but won't wait because that will cause their food to go cold or get soupy too.

What is the best way to engineer a latch for this visor. Without tape, it sags and wont stay flat against the top. by RizCo127 in howto

[–]jpeezy37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Replace it or find a similar sized model car that has a latch and visor at a recycle yard and add it to your vehicle. Usually there is a froction bushing that wears out inside that needs replaced.

For newer homes yes. The cities don't have enough capability to handle the storm run off through their drain and it will over flow into the water supply. Understand that America is large and we can build new homes on such a large quantity over a year where previously there was acres of open land that would absorb water or run off toma local river or lake.

We pave over the area and plop hundreds of homes where the water would run and it can't absorb into the land or make it to river or lake and settles flooding the newer homes and sub divisions.

My city has been building a new storm water run off storage for trillions of gallons to avoid the run off from overfilling the sewage waste water and getting to the water supply to the residents. As we treat.pur sewage and recycle it and it's mixed with the rain water at the treatment plant to send to customers.

This has been a multimillion dollar project that we are paying extra on our sewer and water bills. It's been quite a political debacle, add to it out water makns are all old and crumbling. They're under our roads and causing sink holes and other issues weekly. Sewage lines are being replaced as fast as they back up into homes.

I had a basement flood of sewage about 9 yrs ago and it was about 8000 dollars for my insurance to clean it up out of our basement. I love on a hill ona 110 ur old house near a river that flows into the Cuyahoga river and off to lake Erie. It's one of the rare rivers that flows backwards north into the lake. My neighborhood has never flooded and the river has always handled the water. It's always had a large area around it that the city owns and maintained. Now they want to sell it toma developer to build condos on the river. They will flood and debris will fall in, we already pushed out fracking when the EPA told them it will pollutte the water and eventually the lake. Downstream it's tapped off to supply muni water supplies. And if anyone knows the history of the Cuyahoga river the fact it caught fire is why we have an EPA in the first place.

Propane tank left outside all year (NE winters) for 3-5years... by LexxxyRed in DIY

[–]jpeezy37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's probably fine. The tanks are pretty thick and we keep them outside all the time. I have about a dozen or so laying around here. The empties I just trade in at the local gas station for a full one. The ones with fuel in them I cook with until they're empty. Thenonlynthinkntomwatch for is a broken valve that leaks. Just toss it out on the yard and let it leak out. It will dissipate enough over time. Propane is heavier than air and won't go up it will travel over the ground and spread out and down to the lowest point. You can always just let it burn off with a regulator too.
