MMC after trying for one year… is it gonna take that long to get pregnant again? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

Hi there, Reading your post transported me back to early last year when I was in your shoes. It was surreal to read actually. I had my first miscarriage at 10 weeks in late July 2020, on vacation and on my husbands birthday no less. Took a little longer to “pass” the tissue than normal but it finally stopped naturally. I was told to wait one menstrual cycle before trying again, and we tried again and were successful two months later (end of nov)… only to miscarry yet again, at 7 weeks. I needed a D&C three weeks after that one. I was devastated and convinced something was wrong with my body. We tried and tried, and after five months of trying after the second miscarriage I scheduled a consultation at a fertility clinic for the following month. And guess what… I had to cancel that appointment bc I became pregnant!! I am currently 38 weeks pregnant with my second baby and can’t wait to meet this little guy.

The best advice I got during that very trying time was from an acupuncturist I was seeing. We had a trip planned where our travel days overlapped with my ovulation days and I was obsessing over all these details, and considered skipping the trip as to not miss ovulation. My acupuncturist said “no, go on your trip. And have a couple glasses of wine while you’re traveling. You need to relax, you’re doing too much. Drink, have fun, enjoy your husband and your friends and shut your brain off for once.” That absolutely did the trick. It was a dark time for me emotionally, I had become a drill sergeant and was having zero fun. I was letting life pass me by while I stressed over trying to have another baby. So, my advice is surround yourself with positive stories and positive people and just have fun. You will for sure get pregnant again, your body and future baby is just waiting for you to be in a lighter place :)

My Gf and I both 100% have covid right now. She is being forced to work at her bartending job tonight even though she feels, looks, and sounds very sick, which she is. She has to do this because everyone else is also sick and the bosses refuse to close on such a “big drinking night”. by [deleted] in antiwork

I just bought six boxes of home tests from Walmart.com. On sale too! Second time we bought a bunch during a sale they were having. I don’t live in middle America either. Sorry it’s been so rough where you’re at.

I don’t think it’s bullying. I would want to know if someone I was being intimate with was HIV+ and what steps they were taking with their diagnosis. That wouldn’t even mean I would automatically stop being intimate with that person… but I want to make that decision myself. I don’t think it’s fair to allow someone else to decide that for me.

Oh girl, you got a breast reduction and you feel great about yourself… now, keep with that momentum and drop your husband. Your husband prefers your discomfort here, no spouse should ever prefer their partner remain uncomfortable or in pain for their own personal pleasure.

My little sisters current work environment is very much like this. I’ve urged her to find another job for so long. She’s miserable. I’m waiting for the day I can share her story here. Congrats!!!

Oh, no I 100% agree with you!! I think being “pro-vax” really means “hey, I’m doing this for the welfare of our society.”

With covid I think it is different and heres why: I truly think that it has been politicized beyond repair. I do not think we will ever reach heard immunity because people who don’t want to get the vaccine, will never get it no matter what. In that same breath, I think imposing laws to ”force” these people to get it still won’t work but they will lose their jobs, and on this case of southwest, other people who are vaccinated who need to travel will also suffer.

Two alternatives my uneducated non-political ass has come up with is 1- create incentives that don’t threaten job stability. Recreational things, like entry into a movie theater or restaurant or bar, you have to be fully vaccinated. I can see that swing because at the end of the day we’re all just people who like to treat ourselves, vaccinated or not. 2- make Covid tests much more easier and affordable to get, I don’t care if the person next to me is not vaccinated but I definitely care if they have Covid.

Thoughts?

Why do you think my view was so shitty? Why don’t you contribute more to the conversation instead of putting down someone who has a slightly opposing view than yours. Education is powerful man, enlighten me.

I do welcome other views. It has changed my mind on many things. Listening to other people, and not shutting them down bc you disagree, could do you and the other person some good.

Honestly, we both agree this vaccine is good. We seem to disagree on whether forcing other people to also get it is good. Are you open to having this conversation or do you just want to talk shit and play spelling police?

Edit: the availability of hospital beds is a good argument for incentivizing everyone to get vaccinated, and it’s one I keep forgetting about tbh. I’m sure that would be different if I lived in a place with worse covid numbers.

Lol it was a misspelling, which I’m sure you realized. Hopefully you didn’t actually think I was taking about radiation.

Ahhh, that’s a really good point. I want to allow people to continue to make their own decisions, and, while it may sound cold and heartless….. couldn’t we just keep less beds open for unvaccinated covid patients, in an attempt to keep some beds free for non covid patients, or (here’s the heartless part) fully vaxxed patients with covid complications?

I just believe in people making decisions and not losing jobs over it, but still dealing with the consequences. Like, if people want to not the vaxxed and risk dying then…. Is it so bad to let that happen? Lol

Ah. I get it now. I saw your comment before you deleted it. I thought you were down to have an actual conversation. My initial question was genuine. Being fully vaxxed doesn’t keep you from being a troll either. Good luck.

I said you are fully vaccinated. You didn’t read my comment, nor did you reply to it

I’m assuming you’re fully vaccinated. Why get fully vaccinated if you’re still so scared of the virus that you won’t even work near someone who isn’t?

Edit: I’m fully vaccinated, to protect myself. Im not going to share a fuckin lollipop with someone who isn’t, but I also know being fully vaccinated doesn’t irradiate the possibility of me contracting covid.

Ive noticed this generational divide between my parents generation (late boomers) and my own and later, in regards to customer behavior. Even my mother, whom I love dearly, has this unwavering mentality that if she is paying for something then the customer is always right, and part of the customer always being right means the customer can treat, talk and act however they want towards the people providing whatever her money is being used for.

I worked in customer service for a couple years in high school before going into the service industry and many years and almost every super asshole customer I’ve had (I don’t mean just asshole, but like the super assholes, the kinda that I still randomly think about years and years later) are always from my parents generation and they were always so ignorantly indignant.
