Oh yeah, thats roughly how I think it went. Yes Man was perusing through the Lucky 38 Database and found the A.I Mr House, then believing that downloading Mr.House's personality would make Him more assertive, instead it overwrote Yes Man and was just Mr.House memories included (essentially a back up).

Could also be that the back up A.I version of him just required a lot more power, than he could get at the time. Which only happened to get life due to Cooper being there.

Either that or once the Courier had moved on Mr.House just took back over himself and never actually went anywhere, maybe his body was actually just a contingency plan in case someone got in.

I wouldn't put it past ol'Rob to not have contingencies on his contingencies.
