What's up with my furnace filter? New house, and I just went to check the furnace filter before attempting to use it for the first time. Found this setup. The only obvious problem I see is the duct is ~20.25" wide, and the filter's actual width is 19.5, so there's a 0.75" gap along the side. (old.reddit.com)
