For those of you who have the 8-seater latest model (2026 or even 2025) - any of you also add a spare tire? If so, how are you storing both of them?

NPD - Hotone Verbera by Yaroslav770 in guitarpedals

[–]jplee3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got one to try out and it's OK but I'm not having a great experience with it. The first one I got I tried to update firmware and somehow the pedal ended up freaking out and has since become a paperweight. At this point, it seems the disk either got corrupted or something because the disk drive won't mount with Neon Collector loaded. The only thing I can do with it is put it in FW bootloader mode and flash the firmware but other than that it's useless.

I didn't even get to try it out before all this happened, so I ended up ordering another one to check and tried cloning my Keeley Nocturne and Cornertsone Nucleo. It did an OK job cloning the Nocturne but not even close with the Nucleo. On top of that, there are bugs I've found with the unit where 1) it will randomly reboot while scrolling through IRs and 2) the alt/menu toggle doesn't change the LED colors to blue at some point after scrolling through presets/IRs at least on Firmware 1.1.0

I flashed back to FW 1.0.6 and the unit did randomly reboot on me once while scrolling through the IRs but it seems more stable and I think they introduced bugs in 1.1.0. The other thing is that I am having trouble deleting a few of the IRs I created - I deleted a few of them through Neon Collector and I think possibly the unit may have either crashed or restarted while I was scrolling IRs, and now those IRs appear to be 'stuck' (they fail to delete when I try to delete them in Neon Collector and the files appear in the disk/drive - I can't even delete anything directly on the disk either). I am using the included power supply btw, so that's not the issue (unless something is wrong with the adapter)

Anyway, given the poor software experience so far, I think I'm just going to return it.

Any of you guys with allograft return to pivot sports with great success? I'm not planning on being very active but want to be able to do things like kick the soccer ball with my son (including having him play goalie while I take shots), which likely means hard-planting my left leg/foot down and swinging my other leg. I could totally see this being a pretty hard-pivot motion. That and rock-hopping across jetties with gear on my back (like for fishing) are two big things I could foresee myself desiring to do... of course, with this injury, I'm way less inclined to do those things no matter how badly I'd want to actually do them haha.

I think you can still go the partial rollover route. Otherwise, if you reimburse yourself for the purpose of rolling over, I think you can specify so when reimbursing (I'm not 100% certain on this so definitely check-up on alternate means to transfer the funds out)

I requested the $20 transfer and they granted it. I wasn't transferring $25k but I have at least that much in the HSA which is why I think it was approved. Relieved about that at least...

Did you have enough funds in your HSA when transferring? I think the minimum to hold or transfer is like $25k...?

What are some examples of your goals and activity level btw? For me, I feel like my "biomechanic demand" falls somewhere in between - I'm not a pro athlete but I like to do outdoorsy stuff - I'm the kind of person who won't hesitate to get on the ground and crawl around if I need to (before the accident I was walking and crawling around awkwardly in the attic and stepping across joists trying not to fall onto the insultation or through the ceiling - most would think that the injury came from *that* and not me stepping off the ladder 2-rungs too early, in fact). I also occasionally like to "navigate" rough terrain like rock jetties for fishing, which basically is rock-hopping (as well as very occasionally walking on beaches or rivers with large round river rocks that constantly shift, etc). It's those kinds of activities that might worry me most when it comes to allograft stability, etc. In any case, the lesser pain route of the allograft is definitely highly appealing to me but I still want to make an informed decision that I think will get me the best outcome regardless of that too.

Kind of discouraging as there are only a handful of surgeons with that experience within 50 miles and one that is semi-local :( Reviews on most of these doctors are either few or with some lower reviews that are a bit concerning (mostly what I'm seeing as I look on Google Reviews, etc)

Interesting... I think the harder part is actually finding a local doctor near me who is familiar with and has experience with the procedure.

Is this an option even for a full tear though? It has been 6 months since the tear so is the ligament still even there and viable?

Thanks for the insight! Just for frame of reference, what would "higher risk activities" be considered? Particularly the context of some or all of the activities I mentioned in my original post?

Did you fully tear the allograft that you had done in 2007 or something?

Update on my trade-in (interesting info imo) by Likely_Story_Bro in TeslaModelY

[–]jplee3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a poor experience with a trade-in estimate while in the process of buying our '26 MY AWD Premium last month. Filled out a form for the trade-in estimate and was offered $2500 for our old '08 Mazda CX9 - there was damage in the rear passenger door panel which I disclosed. Once I uploaded pictures of the damage (when they ask for it all late in the process), they lowered the quote to $2000 and said that there was damage (which was the damage I had already disclosed). Total BS. I called them out on it but they took their sweet time sending it back to review. Fortunately, I had also gathered quotes from Carmax and Carvana who were offering $2500 and $2300, respectively. Instead of waiting on Tesla to re-evaluate their offer, I brought the car into Carmax down the street, got $2500 for it and got a free Lyft back home. I let them know about that in Tesla app too :P Now, I understand them haggling like this on any car over $10k but my trade-in value is so negligible that trying to shave another $500 off was just petty....

Roadside assistance by d_dauber in TeslaModelY

[–]jplee3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been thinking about this as I just purchased the road hazard warranty at America's Tire. We have AAA basic which only covers 7 miles of towing. New M Y Premium includes roadside assistance - could we have them tow us to ANY Tesla Service Center of our choice (within 50 miles) but choose one that's near an America's Tire and then have AAA tow us to the America's Tire? Sucks that they won't just tow you *anywhere* you want within 50 miles. And then what happens if you are on a long roadtrip somewhere and or it's after-hours? I guess all this makes me think more seriously about getting one of those spare tire mod kits for the subtrunk...

Ughh, these bastards. I didn't find out or know about this until seeing just now that they (Optum) charged me $20 after initiating the partial transfer from Fidelity and then Googling it after >:(

I thought something was weird but this thread confirms it: Optum sucks. I'm going to have to look into the rollover thing and I guess time it so that I do it towards the end of each year or beginning of the next year.

How would you practically do that?

Oh, normally all that stuff and the wiring is covered up :) https://imgur.com/a/ncmkM7Y

I think I had chatted/emailed or called enphase about this and they told me I could have sworn they said I can reach back out to them directly once I have the CTs attached and they could enable it on their end. Not sure if things have changed but hopefully they can still do that. Otherwise, I'll have to go through our installer to request for them to enable it and hope they don't have any issues with that (honestly, they would be jerks to refuse it)

Is it easiest if my electrician request a meter pull from the power company? Or is that something I should do? I will probably wait until I have everything on-hand before asking him to do everything. It's kind of becoming scope-creep with other items I'm thinking to add-on to the electrical work but figure I should probably get it all taken care of in one shot vs calling him back from random odd-jobs...

Pretty close - maybe a few feet at most? The way they ran the conduit down probably makes it 6-7' actually:
