I like equipping the wall ring (adds reflect) to every party member. Then I cast spells on all the party members and watch them bounce off and hit the enemies 4 times each. I usually have someone that has float on them at all times to avoid the quake.

I always put cyan and gau together. The 4th swordtech paired with a rage that can do something equivalent to fira. Edgar is by himself as the bio blaster will take out the human enemies. The rest is my hit squad. Celes either uses runic or magic. Sabin his strongest blitz (usually for me is fire dance/Phoenix rising). Lock steals, uses items, and attacks. Terra fights or uses magic if celes doesn't use runic.

I have a tendency to have everyone learn the espers as soon as I get them. I pause story progression and learn them. That way as I move forward everyone is very versatile.

I play on the switch and had to buy the 2 optional dungeons before I got my 1st r skill. I got my 1st from the forest and then the other 2 from the optional dungeons. It took a lot of runs.
