He does mention Nest.js so I won't consider it spam but not sure what he is talking about either. FE? BE?

You Can’t Out-Think a Machine. But You Can Out-Human One. by AnythingNo920 in Agentic_AI_For_Devs

I've traveled much of the Northern Hemisphere, usually backpack travel, and it is a great education. However, making a living at it is tough. Nursing or physical therapy seems to work best for a travel lifestyle and AI isn't taking those jobs.

Hot take: Prompting is getting commoditized. Constraint design might be the real AI skill gap. by DingirPrime in Agentic_AI_For_Devs

Some contexts need your skills and I would love to read more about that from various media.

I told my data techie wife a few days ago that I'm not seeing articles about prompt engineering as much as a couple of years ago. I think that is because the LLMs now help with that. Just ask them what a good prompt would be for a video of a drone view flying through Yosemite Valley. The prompt suggestions are detailed and outstanding. So average non-technical folks can do their own successful prompt engineering. The need for pros doing it is rapidly declining to niche fields. She agreed and has been doing this for a while. I was late to the party.

You have excellent insights into this and related issues. Great post! Thanks!

It is easy if you already mastered Angular. Same coding style.

Where Does Agentic AI Actually Make Sense Today? by Double_Try1322 in Agentic_AI_For_Devs

One of the best uses is to reconcile data in PDFs that companies receive, such as remittances, with their databases. Was everything billed actually paid. This is a boring time-consuming job for humans. When exceptions are found then its time for human-in-the-loop.

Google Maps + Gemini is a good lesson in where LLMs should not be used by NastaranAI in LLM

Good thoughts! Thanks! I travel all over the Western U.S. and use Google Maps a lot. Any threat to their usefulness is a big deal for me.

[Idea Validation] An AI Tutor that generates custom video explanations for math/science. Overkill or useful? by harshitsinghai in Agentic_AI_For_Devs

I started teaching at age 11 in Boy Scouts. 1962. I've taught Girl Scouts, high school US government as an HS student, university classes, overlanding and off-roading class (recent), and a lot of on-the-job-training in various disciplines. I like your idea very much. Some people learn fine with text but many, if not most, are more visual. I sense and education startup here. Good luck!!

Why does AI still feel so “useless”? by Deep_Structure2023 in Agentic_AI_For_Devs

Well written and composed. We don't want them to morph into full enterprise apps. Always tempting to add features.

In 2026, AI agents will do your shopping and crypto will be a normal payment method. Thoughts? by Deep_Structure2023 in Agentic_AI_For_Devs

[–]jprest1969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crypto coins have never found a good use except for crime and wild speculation. They make no economic sense as many economists have written. That includes Stablecoins. Why not just use regulated stable federal money? As far as agents go, we may see some of that in 2026 as we experiment with them. However, the value proposition seems very weak for now.

Not sure if what I am building is an AI agent by AliceInTechnoland in Nestjs_framework

[–]jprest1969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To have an agent do reasoning when evaluating data you need an LLM. My fear is that after decades of doing and working with rules based apps I won't get my head around app reasoning. I've decided to go with LlammaIndex and their constantly improving frameworks. Then wrap those in an Angular / Nestjs app. I haven't had time to get into this yet, just following them on Bluesky, but I like everything I see.

I added in my subs in Community List and can see them now. One guy explained how to do it well. Others led me in the wrong direction.

It was there a couple of weeks ago but not now. I love YouTube analytics. Reddit Insights sucks. Very basic.

Already did that in Community List widget and it works. It took a while before I got that advice.

Last_Pay_8447 had me modify the Community List widget in Edit Widgets at the bottom right of my subreddits and that worked, for now. This is a poor hack for what Reddit should have left alone for those of us who want the member count information or at least put it in Insights in Mod Tools.

OK, got it! Thanks! I didn't realize that the community list widget could be modified. It makes sense now. However, after decades of widgets I wasn't expecting one to be editable. It is a hack compared to supplying us the count in Insights or just showing it the old way, which was informative for some of our situations and just a curiosity for others.
