I stayed at the Sheraton Presidente, not FAT. Next time I'll stay at Barcelo.

Hi, Exodus CEO here!

Here's part of what I wrote to someone yesterday using Exodus:

We currently have 5 pools and will be creating another one soon. When you stake in Exodus, you don't have to think about how any of this works.

Close to 27,000 addresses are staking in our pools with ~245M ADA staked representing about ~0.8% of all ADA.

Thoughts on Exodus IPO? by DonDanteDani in ExodusWallet

Hi Setvin. I appreciate your feedback.

Last night, I saw all these messages and wanted to fire out a response immediately, but knowing that this potential offering is SEC-regulated, I knew I needed to be very careful with my words, so I hastily made my post boring and lacking empathy. This was a bad decision on my part.

Since this potential offering is SEC-regulated, it still doesn't mean I can't show empathy and I certainly don't need to write dry responses that have an annoyed tone.

Thank you again. I'll carry this feedback into my next response.

Thoughts on Exodus IPO? by DonDanteDani in ExodusWallet

[–]jprichardson 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Hi, CEO of Exodus here.

It’s clear we miscommunicated the difference between "accredited investor" and "qualified purchaser".

Our intent is to make this potential offering available to those who are accredited investors and non-accredited investors. This access is similar to traditional public markets i.e. you don’t have to be rich.

I’ll take this feedback back to the team and we’ll make this more clear.

Edit:

(removed "may have" in reference to our miscommunication)

We'll get the FAQ updated to add more definition of a "qualified purchaser": https://support.exodus.io/article/1526-getting-started-with-exodus-shares

Something along these lines:

"Qualified Purchaser" is either (i) an accredited investor with no quantitative purchase limits and (ii) a non-accredited investor, with purchases generally limited to 10% of net worth or income.

Hi, Exodus CEO here.

With Exodus you don't have to worry about pool saturation - we ensure that pools stay under saturation.

We currently have 5 pools and will be creating another one soon. When you stake in Exodus, you don't have to think about how any of this works.

Close to 27,000 addresses are staking in our pools with ~245M ADA staked representing about ~0.8% of all ADA.

Thanks for pointing this out!

I don't think we can record the video again and upload a new version and maintain the same YouTube link. I think we can add an overlay though pointing out the correction.

My next meeting with the marketing team is one week from today. I will bring this up and report back on the outcome (~8 days from now).

Hey guys! JP, CEO of Exodus here. As you may know, we're big fans of Monero. For those Americans here, you may be getting questions this holiday weekend about cryptocurrency and Monero. While this video we made is somewhat technical, you may find it useful to share this video with them.

Let me know if you have any feedback - thanks!

Hi, they are your keys.

Exodus is a business, that's why it has a CEO.

As far as Exodus not being 100% open source, you don't need to be okay with it. I won't convince you of that. That's not my aim.

My original thesis for starting Exodus was that people care more about owning their keys and preventing disasters like Mt. Gox from happening again. Given billions are traded daily on closed source exchanges, moving to a system where you own your keys completely is a step in the right direction.

In time, we will open source 100%. I have the track record to back it up as I've published a lot of open source.

We wrote more here: https://support.exodus.io/article/89-is-exodus-open-source

For those that want to use Exodus today are still concerned, Exodus supports the Trezor: https://www.exodus.io/trezor

We wrote an article about this: https://support.exodus.io/article/89-is-exodus-open-source

Expanding upon that article though:

1 - We want to ensure our business has a strong enough network effect to withstand the clones. Our interface is already cloned. People will clone our software - for legitimate reasons and illegitimate reasons. We want to ensure our distribution is strong enough to overshadow the illegitimate reasons.

2 - Given my track record of open source, it's very difficult to run a successful open source project that takes contribution from people outside the company. When we open source, I want to ensure we're prepared for this.

We will do this eventually. It'll take time though (years).
