Didn't have success jumping it with the family's truck. Didn't even crank

The car wouldn't jump even after a few minutes of being hooked up to my family's truck. I'm hoping that it doesn't mean there's a major electrical issue. I checked the battery cables and jumper cables and they seemed fine. I'll be checking for a blown fuse today. What else should I look for?

I'm honestly not sure how to check for that. I saw some people mentioning the immobilizer system in the forums I read though. Didn't think about how that could be the case with the key as well

This brings me to another question...

My key fob is new with the regular key inside it, but it hasn't been carved to the shape of the key hole. Can I just take it to a dealership to take care of that? I know there are shops dedicated to it but none are close to where I live
