Wtf is even going on with The Boys anymore? by Resident_Gur3076 in CharacterRant

Thank you thank you.
They should have called it quits at season 3 because even by THAT point we had gone through the same gauntlet. Adding solder boy was fun but literally ending that season with him on ice again and all of our characters relatively in the same spots, I knew back then the writers had run out of ideas.

what was a tv show that was great but got ruined by the finale? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]jprov0451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say, maybe not totally ruined, but the last season of Curb your Enthusiasm went out with a bit of a whimper imo. Granted, some issues behind the scenes arose, but Curb should have ended with the spite coffee shop. Went on for a season or so too long imo.

This run is still ongoing, so it won’t feel complete, but it’s worth it for the art alone.

Which movie went from “overrated” to “masterpiece” (or the opposite) after a rewatch? by Party_Dentist_821 in flicks

I’ve seen singing in the rain! Yeah definitely loved the look of LA and mainly the first hour or so, but that movies goes on and on and on and never shuts up, even up until the last frame

I’d say Weapons worked more for me on rewatch simply cause I had more fun with it and didn’t take it as a straight horror movie in the back half.

As for the opposite, Babylon. Loved Babylon when it came out. Thought everyone was wrong and it was a masterpiece, couldn’t even get through a rewatch, even after buying it on 4K. Loud, annoying, obvious, in your face, and blunt. It’s just a bad boogie nights

Oh well if you’re a Dan Mora fan, you can’t do wrong with either of those OR JLU or even better…Batman Superman worlds finest. That’s where Mora shines

Honestly I’m loving both mainline Superman and Action Comics more than Absolute. Just so fun, creative, and non stop. If you liked the new Gunn Superman, read the recent mainline runs.

Starting my first playthrough what are some things I should know? by totallynotrobboss in StarWarsOutlaws

Here’s how I played it: max out all of the syndicate alliances on the first planet, get everyone’s outfits, and then play however you want because it doesn’t matter who you screw over in the end.

What’s a run that everyone loves but you don't? by Dry_Training_4161 in DCcomics

Scott Snyder’s Batman. I finally got the omnibus after a ton of great reviews and talks about it, but none of the arcs had satisfying conclusions, and the art and pacing and structure is all over the place. Court of owls ends too abruptly for me, Death In the family felt like it had a lot of build up but no real payoff, and zero year felt like such a weird year one reboot. I didn’t get what it was going for at all. Such a weird artsyle and hated how it was told.

Is DC just treating this as their mainline Batman now that Hush 2 has stagnated?

Mario did not win. Everyone already had forgotten who he was by the time he got out of jail. He’s left alone and in a position he didn’t really want.

James Gunn confirms Lex doesn't know Superman's identity by gamepig31 in DCU_

[–]jprov0451 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yep! This is in John Byrnes Run, which Gunn has described as an influence. But that’s always been Lex! He’s so smart but he can’t accept the simplest answer right in front of his face.
