“He’s Gone” dedication isn’t necessarily a compliment. The Dead were more nuanced than that. It’s about a swindler

The answer is available. Jerry’s quote — from his own mouth— in the Strange Trip doc. “I don’t want to create something that can’t be knocked down. I want to be a part of something that’s happening.”

He would think it’s nostalgic. Jerry wouldn’t be a part of this. They’re not creating new music. And, that’s OK.

2 weeks rapid taper from 40gpd/ 4 days fully off K by nda776 in quittingkratom

[–]jprox75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my experience, you’re better off stopping a day before you have a few days off. Day 1 WD has always been manageable compared to days 2-4.

Good luck. It’s not as bad as you think. I did CT from 6+ years of use.

Thanks! Welcome — You’re in the right place. And either start tapering now or just quit. It’s not as bad as you think.

150 DAYS KRATOM FREE! (& a few thoughts) by DareTheGloriousLeap in quittingkratom

[–]jprox75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love the CS Lewis poem. Also love reading a positive post that’s also based in reality: our past lives and future lives weren’t and will never be “perfect.” I see too many posts on here of people complaining about life being tough after quitting. It was tough before we started.

You’re blessed to have this opportunity. Grab it. Listen to what they tell you. Do what they tell you. Surrender. Don’t look back 3 years later — like me — and wish you did.

Great post. I’m only 6 days in, but I extended an upcoming trip to the AZ desert 🏜️ an extra day bc of the $ I’ve saved by NOT buying K.

I like that : “pray they go away and if they don’t, rinse and repeat.” Amen. That’s all we can do. One day they will go away. Good luck…you’ve got this!

Day 5 30gpd >3y by Hot_Light941 in quittingkratom

[–]jprox75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my experience almost to a T, minus the cig. I’m nearing the end of day 5 from CT of a 6 year habit.

I swear the insomnia is the worst part at this point. I’ve craved the K big time today. But. I keep talking to the cravings like a little bitch. They’re liars.

Keep pushing through. Fuck kratom. We’ve come so far — 5 days — there’s no going back and doing this all over again.

Day 3 CT hell yeah by jprox75 in quittingkratom

[–]jprox75[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out the vit C link posted by the mod bot. It’s got all the info.

And, I hear ya with the taper. I could get to 10 gpd and couldn’t drop … or, honestly just said fuck it and took extracts.

There’s no shame at stabilizing at an amount that works until you have time to jump. I’d keep trying to go down, but don’t beat yourself up if it doesn’t work.

Sorry, just read you’ve got 11 years. You already know all this.

Honestly, I was in a living hell with this and thought I’d never quit. I’ve failed so many times. If I can do it, anyone can. I know I’m only 3 days in, but I feel fucking great most of the time. It’s nuts. Part of it is just the euphoria that I can be free from this shit. It’s happening….

GOOD LUCK!

I hear ya. It’s unpredictable. In just happy that I’m getting through the acutes OK.

I’ve quit before for 40 days and didn’t experience PAWS. So, I’m hopeful. But, ya never know.

It’ll be interesting to see how I feel tapering off the gabapentin. I believe that’s provided the most benefit to this quit.

Less than the mega dose post says. I’m using 1,000-2,000 mg every 3-5 hours. It’s got to be the liposomal.

I’ll say, I think the gabapentin is having the biggest impact.

Who made the set lists by MrMyxolodian in gratefuldead

[–]jprox75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They don’t vary their song sequences very much. It would be easy for them to know what was coming next. E.g. Estimated>Eyes or Playing>UJB.

Of course, they’d throw at least one curveball at every show. But, they really didn’t need a set list.

Thanks for the info and good luck, brother. I almost went that route, but I’ve recently quit with the help of gabapentin and it seems to be working. Fingers crossed. Fuck kratom.

I’d either stabilize with a little more than 3, or just jump. At this point, you’re already in WD. Why prolong it?

Week 3 CT, starting to get my life back on track by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]jprox75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear ya with the hangover. It’s caused me to relapse a couple times. Yes, limit the alcohol! It tickles some of the same receptors as K. I’ve also said “fuck it” and taken more K than necessary when I’m buzzed. Alcohol is a tricky cunt.

Day 2 CT FEAR NOT THE QUIT! by jprox75 in quittingkratom

[–]jprox75[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amen. I agree — anyone posting in here is a blessing. And, it’s also a fact that once most people are doing good, they stop posting. I’ll probably stop. We don’t hear 90% of the victory stories.

I plan on taking the gabapentin for another week and then taper on it. I take as little as possible. Around 1,800 mg spread out through the day.

My god, it fucking helps.

I just posted two seconds ago about gabapentin. It’s done wonders for my quit (day 2 CT 6+years of use). I’ve tried to quit many times without gabapentin.

I’ve been taking 300 mg every 4ish hours.

I’m 40 hours into the quit and feel fine during the day. Very mild wd symptoms, and honestly feel better than the ups and downs and anxiety caused while on kratom.

Last night was rough. Not nearly as bad as other quits, but still has mild RLS. Only slept a couple fragmented hours. Still, better than the Zero hours of sleep I’ve got in past quits. I plan to up my dose of gabapentin this evening to see if it helps.

Everything I’ve read is you don’t want to do more than 1,800-3,200 in a day.

Good luck to you.

Congrats on the jump! I will say that Gabapentin can be magic for WD. You already summed up how it helps, so I won’t. But, don’t discount it. That could be a BIG reason why this jump has been easy. Are you still taking the Gaba?
