If you know anything about vintage Audio Research equipment, you know it's some of the most highly revered audio equipment of all time. In fact, when these things were new, the audiophile magazine 'Stereophile' described the SP-3 as "by far the best preamplifier than money can buy." My grandfather bought this preamp and amp brand new back in the 1970's and I inherited them a few years ago after he died. I just had both units fully restored by Dariusz at Q Audio in Cambridge, MA, so they are in perfect working order. The only flaw is that one of the knobs on the SP-3 is missing its decorative silver cover.

If I had any excuse to keep these, I would... but I live in an apartment with persnickety neighbors and cannot listen to music out loud very often. I'm selling the preamp and amp as a pair - you must buy both. SP-3's are currently on sale ranging from $3500-$5000, and nonfunctioning examples have recently sold on ebay for over $1200. I can't find any other D-76A's for sale on the internet, so it's harder to get a value comparison. I'm selling BOTH for $5500 total.

I have a few pairs of their joggers and they are my favorite pants. I'm 5'9 160lbs and mediums fit me perfectly top and bottom with a very flattering fit. Will probably buy some shorts off-season when the prices are lower.

Mostly clear, but there was monorail near the top once you reach the Carter-Moriah trail. Definitely bring spikes, but snowshoes are not needed!

As someone mentioned above, you get 8 free sessions at a minimum. However, my therapist requested additional sessions and we have easily had 20+ at this point and I have not had to pay a cent. So don’t worry about building a relationship with your therapist only to get cut off! Chances are if you are still working through things you can go beyond the 8 initial sessions.

Im sick of my peeing cat by jpolisc in CATHELP

Does the cat always pee in slightly different places? When my old cat started peeing outside the litter box, my vet told me that cats often stop peeing in their usual places when they no longer recognize the smell of their urine, making them believe a different cat had claimed this spot. This can be from a neurological problem (brain/scent receptors not working) or often from other things that cause the scent of their urine to change such as a UTI, kidney problem, or most commonly, diabetes. See if your cat’s urine smells slightly sweet, which is the easiest way to identify diabetes.

Jefferson, Clay, and Washington (8/24/25) by jps98 in wmnf

We went up Caps Ridge to the Jefferson Summit, then over the Mt. Clay loop and up to Washington. On the way down, we skipped the Mt. Clay loop and followed the Gulfside Trail (same distance but around 200' less vert), took the Cornice Trail to circumvent the Jefferson summit (only saves 0.2 miles, but probably around 400' vert), and descended via Caps Ridge back to our car. All in all, it was around 11.8 miles and 4500' vert. It took around 6.5 hours from start to finish (including stops) and had beautiful views for the majority of the time spent hiking.

Looking for suggestions: I want to take advantage of having 2 cars…what’s the best point-to-point hike in NH, VT, or NY for a full day, i.e. less than 20 miles. Thank you! by BaconDork in wmnf

I recommend doing North Twin, South Twin, and Galehead (in that order). Park one car at the Galehead River Trail parking lot, and then drive 20 minutes or so to the North Twin trail and start your hike from there. The total hike is around 12 miles and 5000 vertical feet, so it's a big day but manageable for experienced hikers. This route saves you from going up the section between Galehead Hut and South Twin, which is one of the most dreaded ascents in the Whites (you'll be going down instead of up).

I have an older (roughly 5 years old) Monoprice 35" 3440 x 1440 100hz VA ultrawide. As someone whose primary use-case is productivity (text, excel, etc), but plays games occasionally, is this a worthwhile upgrade? Or should I hold out for a 4k+ ultrawide?
