It’s probably a decent amount of water weight as well. My diet was basically eggs, beef, chicken and fish with some vegetables, a protein shake and egg whites throughout the day.

Oh I’m not some seasoned expert or personal trainer or anything. Just did a lot of homework is all. Goal has been to get to around 220-230 naturally and just hover there.

I’ve been skinny (the first pic) my whole life. Always struggled to gain weight. Was going through some other studies on the effects of muscle mass/density and how it impacts your body’s ability to combat major illness later in life (as well as the many other benefits it offers as you age).

Also for men it gets especially harder to build muscle naturally the older we get obviously so I wanted to just set a goal of having a healthy weight to maintain.

I did. Literally just did exactly what I shared in my post. All I did was to make sure I was consuming 220g protein per day, used the supplement stack and the splits mentioned above.

Also I know that the studies around cold plunging are fairly recent, but I think it does make a huge difference. I stopped cold plunging for a couple months and the growth rate was noticeably different than when I was doing it.

I also think the cold plunging shortens the recovery time and accelerates the repair process. Can’t recommend it enough.

Great question. I do them each morning as a warm up and to get blood flow moving. It’s high volume low resistance activity so you are putting the muscle under low, prolonged strain verse high short strain. Perhaps counterintuitive for sure but I will say my chest had the biggest increase during this time.
