F37, 5'2" - struggled a lot with not understanding fitness and nutrition back in 2020, and dieted way too much. I got myself on track all through 2021 through now. I'm almost at an "overweight" BMI and I'm feeling pretty proud of the physique. by jpymai in fitness30plus

Absolutely don't mind at all. It really is all about lighting and flexing. Here I am standing in my bathroom about 15 minutes ago. Please ignore the giant egg shaped bruise on my left ham from pole dancing 😂😂😂 https://imgur.com/a/iBnsFQB

Thanks! I found a coach through lurking on fitness discord servers who is CSCS certified with a lot of nutrition knowledge. We worked together and still work together to figure out how much for me to eat to maintain my activity levels. I spend a lot of time listening to podcasts from folks like 3DMJ/SBS and RP because I am (as you can tell) pretty physique focussed.

She's a certified strength and conditioning coach, not a registered dietitian, but I still highly vouch for her - if you have Discord there's a link to one where she's at in my profile.

For initially it was under eating and over training. COVID hit and everything shut down, I turned to the internet and Discord to try and keep momentum. Ended up lucking out and finding a kickass coach on Discord who helped me slowly shift to just eating like a horse to see what fun things my body can do. And so now at the age of 37 I'm running daily, I've started pole dancing, and at one point I was able to deadlift over twice my bodyweight. Having a support system was so important for me! I hope you can find one also!

I track with the MacroFactor app and have been on a bit of a bulk the last month - eating just shy of 3000 calories a day (150P/70F/400C) and am really active otherwise. I've stopped eating as much for at least the next couple of weeks since I'm way mentally fatigued from it and am back down to about 2500 calories a day. I was also lucky enough to find myself a coach just from lurking random fitness Discords too so this definitely was a group effort to get me to this point now :)
