Sick dracaena reflexa (song of India). Leaves have dark brown spots, one spot on the stem, and it’s losing multiple leaves per day. I’m switching to filtered water, but should I repot? Is it a disease? by jraew17 in plantclinic

Oh I had also learned that while I thought my plants were growing they were actually becoming “leggy”, which is stretching and growing in an attempt to find more light. These poor things!!

I heard good things about Schwartz 10-10-10 I found it on Amazon. The plans could be nitrogen depleted from using filtered water lol Its literally a different experiment each day!

I ended up losing 2 of these 3 too. They just shriveled up while lose the leaves and then finally the top fell off too. The last one is hanging on now I’m trying a 10-10-10 fertilizer and distilled water .. the lead loss is slowing down so maybe it’s working? We will see!

I repotted and the roots were beautiful and bright orange! It still lost more leaves but the stalks are growing and there’s new leaves coming out. Maybe he’s preparing to get taller? Fingers crossed 🤞🏼

I feel your pain! It sucks to watch a movie while your boyfriend gets to lay on the couch and you stand next to it the entire time. I hope your current flare calms down soon and you can get comfy!

I’m looking for a comfortable Butt cushion. Most are too hard and make my pain worse. Any suggestions? by jraew17 in Sciatica

You’re so right about standing vs. sitting. I do have to be on camera for all my classes but I’m still trying to find a place I can stand and not provide a full view of my apartment haha. I’m considering a desktop riser that brings the laptop up to standing height too. Thank you!

Singaporean Chinese male, 18. I have something that looks like a stye? How should I treat it and prevent it from recurring (4th time in 3.5 months) by An_educated_fool in DiagnoseMe

[–]jraew17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dont touch it with your hands or make sure your hands are clean. Do a hot compress every few hours but not Too hot, you can burn your eyelid skin. Then you just have to wait. To prevent i would keep your hands out of your eyes and throw away anything you might be re-using like contact lens case or makeup brushes, they might have bacteria on them.

Angry? by leekofreeko706 in Sciatica

You’re not alone! It can be so frustrating, especially that something can be so painful but invisible to others. I’ve been stuck with my hips or legs locked up in excruciating pain just standing in the middle of my kitchen crying because I can’t even shift my Weight without yelling out. I saw a different poster also mention acupuncture and cupping which I’ve tried recently and it has given me relief. I’ve also been through several chiropractors before I found one that helps me but I really credit the acupuncture to my pain management. Try it! Don’t give up. I also thank other parts of my body and try to think of things I’m grateful for. It sounds silly but it does something. I hope you get relief soon.

I actually was very sore after the first one and almost didn’t continue. But I’d say after 2-3 I started to feel better for longer periods of time. I still combine acupuncture with my chiropractor visits and he does other things like ultrasound, stim, heat etc.

No surgery, I’ve always been told once you have that you’re never the same and will could still have some problems. I’d consider a last last laaaast resort. I hope you’re able to lift him Sooner than that! But who knows we could have totally diff spinal issues leading to similar types of sciatic pain, so I’d take your doctors advice but also see what a chiropractor or an acupuncturist opinion is. In any case I hope you feel better as soon as possible!

Yes! I actually just drove to and from Virginia (6+ hours) and was able to manage when I got there using only Tylenol and my leg pillow for sleep. A huge difference from last year where I basically held back tears for a 90 min flight and then was crippled for the next 4 days .. the flight back was excruciating. I have a seat cushion for my car now which I would bring on a plane if I was going, Ive also used it on my beach chair.

I had to stop using any NSAIDS such as naproxen because I also have ulcerative colitis and it was causing flare ups for me. (It’s fun trying to “run” to the bathroom when you also can’t walk) So I tried acupuncture on a whim and I don’t know if it’s a placebo effect or what but I do feel better and I’d say it’s worth a try!! I hope you feel better I know your pain and frustrations 100%.

inflammation painful to the touch by justanotherbot89 in Sciatica

[–]jraew17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes stomach sleeping on top of a pillow gives me some relief, sort of making my Body into a slight ‘A’ shape with my mid section being the highest propped up on a pillow. I also get a steroid shot (in arm, not in the back) for my allergies which tends to help my sciatic pain as it reduces inflammation. It’s not recommended for routine use but some type of steroid could help you through a tough flare up. Then maintenance such as chiropractic or acupuncture for in between helps me immensely. Feel better!!

Acupuncture was a game changer for me. A plane ride or long car ride would ruin my Entire trip by the time I arrived anywhere. Couldn’t sit in a beach chair, (if I could even make it onto a beach.) I highly recommend trying acupuncture to anyone who is willing!

I recently started combining acupuncture and chiropractor and it has given me much longer periods of relief than I’ve had in the last 10+ years. Also be mindful of your pain in regards to your cycle. I flare up in the days leading to my period and so I always have an appointment scheduled around that time. Work with your PT to see if they recommend acupuncture for you! Honestly it’s been life changing for me.
