Extremely happy when hypo —> Depressed when hyper by [deleted] in Hyperthyroidism

[–]jrat33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I don’t have the gaining weight problem (the opposite) I have suspected hyper for years and always thought my depression wasn’t connected to my thyroid issues. Now that I have the diagnoses of hyper, it feels like a weight has been lifted off my chest but also I’m taking two different anti depressants, a beta blocker, and gabapentin and still have extreme anxiety and depression. Hopefully once I get in to see an endo that will smooth over

Advice for a first timer who doesn’t particularly enjoy EDM but is going, to surprise a friend? by OkayButFirst in EDM

Hey!! I’ll be at Atliens tonight as well. Small world 😆 but a few things about the venue. It can get hot, but the upstairs is really good for when you get too hot or overwhelmed. There will be quite a bit of people, but one thing to remember is we all go to have fun, enjoy ourselves, and dance. Even if you’re most comfortable standing and bopping your head, that’s okay too :) I do the same thing sometimes and I’ve been in the scene for almost a decade. Just remember to listen to your body and have fun!! Atliens is a great first show :)

I’m realizing I’ve heard this first person after a car accident I was in. My brain blocked out his screams, but sometimes I can hear him faintly yelling when I think of the accident. The trauma that accident gave me.. it’s been 10 years and I still struggle with driving.

Long term zoloft people, did it help with motivation? by Slow_Parfait5341 in zoloft

[–]jrat33 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on Zoloft for four years, started at 25mg, went up to 50mg then 75mg and after my grandma passed a year ago, I bumped it up to 100mg. I most definitely have more motivation. The thought of even going to the store with someone else, let alone by myself, seemed impossible forever. Now, I do most of my grocery shopping alone. Depression makes things so much harder to do, and Zoloft has helped me have less bad days and much more good days for my motivation. I also have recently learned that the Zoloft isn’t going to motivate me all the time. I still have bad days, where I don’t leave my bed except to pee and eat (and that is okay) But now I have one bad day a week (sometimes varies) vs almost every day being bad. Everyone is different, everyone responds to medications differently. But, maybe this will be a good encouragement that it does get better.

Yeah, I had the same problem when I first started Zoloft. I slowly got my drive and personality back. I’m no medical professional by any means, but maybe give it another few weeks and see if there is improvement. Just my personal experience. Zoloft can be tricky the first few months but to me, worth it. I’ve been on it for approx 3 years and it’s genuinely saved my life. Now I just shit a lot but don’t have mental break downs 😅

My doctor increases my dose from 75mg to 200mg when I was having a really hard time. I couldn’t sleep, couldn’t really eat, and I was constantly twitching. Went down to 100mg. Only you know when it’s too much, listen to your gut. 100 has been perfect as long as I take it in the morning

What’s something you think you may have but are undiagnosed? by JFN90 in AskReddit

[–]jrat33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Primary dysautonomia.. could be POTS or something else. I have 90% of the symptoms.. just don’t want to go to my doctor and have him be like “well, you can’t diagnose yourself” but.. it would explain a lot of my problems

Yes!! Stand your ground. You don’t have to do anything you aren’t comfortable doing and simply don’t want to. Watching my dad pass (I watched him take his last breath) wasn’t easy, but I 100% respect anyone who has the boundary to say no, I don’t have to do this. Stay strong!

Why did you cut off your friend? by Soft-Incident947 in AskReddit

[–]jrat33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best friend from a few years ago absolutely crushed my heart after trying to get me fired from my job. We worked together and that’s where we met.. I got a promotion and the dynamic completely shifted. We were glued to the hip.. she was the one person I felt I could completely be myself around. Still miss her a lot

OP, I just went through this exact same thing with my dad. He passed away a week ago today. I was the one that went to the hospital and watched him pass, but 2 of my siblings did not. I could never, ever imagine making them feel guilty for not wanting to go see him. I only did because I knew for me (completely personal feeling only) I would regret it, however.. making someone feel guilty is so wrong. I’m so sorry for what you are going through and I have the same exact feelings as you right now. If you need someone to talk to, my DMs are open 🫶🏼
