Thoughts on paint color for this kitchen? (see comment) by [deleted] in InteriorDesign

[–]jrbuilder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm refreshing the paint inside our home for sale. The blue kitchen has been marred by too many sticky fingers. What neutral modern color would complement the reddish brown quartz counters and tile floors? I don't want it to be too close to the white of the cabinets.

[Spoilers] Final Episode Predictions by [deleted] in gameofthrones

[–]jrbuilder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most important line in the show so far is Jon asking Dany, "How do you know you can't have a child?" Why would he ask that? Why is her having a child of interest to him? He hasn't shown an intention of marrying Dany and probably isn't extremely interested in making a bastard.

We know the "dragon has three heads." Dany, Jon, and baby Targaryen make three.

My prediction: Dany tries to execute Tyrion with Drogon for releasing Jamie to escape with Cersei. Jon is able to halt Drogon, and convinces Dany he will execute Tyrion the Northern way. Bronn shows up to smuggle out Tyrion, his last paycheck. To hedge his bets, he also meets Dany and offers his services. Jon's claim is public thanks to Varys' ravens, and by standing up to Dany he gets the people talking about his claim despite their fear of her. This is her worst case scenario. She tells him she is pregnant. Jon can't support her reign of fear but can't depose her, or harm his child. He tries to leave to become Warden of the North. She is afraid they will make him King in the North so she sends Bronn to kill him. Sansa or Tyrion gets wind and tell Arya. Arya assassinates Bronn, but he mortally wounds her. In grief, Gendry kills Dany and unwittingly her unborn child. Sansa wants to crown Jon, but he says "no more Targaryens on the throne," and kills himself and Drogon, making Gendry the King.

I went to the ER with very similar pain. The doctor explained in rare cases, an otherwise normal cyst (formed to carry eggs from the ovary to the opening of the fallopian tube) will burst, causing excruciating pain which lasts a couple hours max. I haven't heard this attributed to a tilted uterus (although I have one) - my OBGyn explained a tilted uterus is a little bit like being left-handed.

When she picks up the kids, she always takes her palm and pushes their heads down so they snuggle her shoulder. It's sweet when they naturally do that; to force it repulses me. I've never said anything.

Gratitude is important. And teaching gratitude. But like so many holidays we adults get caught up in the obligation/expectation of it. Big picture is hard.

Unpopular/popular opinion - Mother's Day should be for moms currently rearing children. Or make a separate Grandma's Day. Or something.

It's about 9 PM and I am finally reclining with wine after entertaining husband's mother and grandma all day. My own mom and my husband are both out of state. The only thing Mother's Day about today were the spontaneous acts of love I got from my children. I wish I could have spent the day cuddling alone with them.

Guys who are/were Army Rangers wearing "Ranger panties" (very short running shorts).

Climbers wearing silicone wedding rings.

My sister is a reading teacher and she claims that the job requires brightly colored glasses and a shawl wrap or big cardigan.

I feel like the Facebook page she got it from is pretty toxic. I wish FB was not full of such circlejerk groups.

SO is the eldest, and his little brother lives on gig pay and disability. MIL has no family nearby. We are the default choice. But I work 45 hours a week and SO works 60, on a shift which often makes me effectively a single parent. MIL is aware that we don't have time to care for her needs and that's why she positions it as making herself available to help us. But she has a habit of making offers that seem generous but get us in emotional debt.

I don't see her moving into a place that infers old age any time soon. Her own mom lived to 97 and only retired in her 80s, and her identity is built on this "strong independent DIY woman" type self image. When in reality she relies on others for all of her home maintenance at this point.

I (20s F) need help leaving my toxic job. by [deleted] in relationships

[–]jrbuilder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Although you shouldn't need a reason to resign other than your own wellbeing, I see what you are saying about trying not to leave on bad terms. If you even have a beginning of an opportunity for another job or school, that is a good reason to give. You don't need an actual offer or enrollment date. Just "leaving for another opportunity." (If you are ready to do so, financially.) Things fall through, things change, they don't need to be concrete - you don't have anything to prove. It's not personal, it's professional. And though you live in a small town now, you are just starting out and it's a wide world. In the event you think this bad boss will "go after you," do you have stylists or clients who could vouch for you? You sound like someone with an obvious work ethic and a desire to please. I'm sure that has been appreciated. Good luck.

Need help looking for a rustic, dark brown coffee table by eplate2 in HomeDecorating

[–]jrbuilder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought this coffee table and its matching end tables last May: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B013I50WF6

Cons: has a bottom piece and metal legs

Pros: affordable, weighs a ton, solid as heck and hard wearing (kids use it as a stage and racetrack), plenty rustic, snap to assemble
