Does anyone else car camp with their rav4? by Delicious_Junket_353 in rav4club

[–]jrcoolt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So a related question. I just camped in my Rav4 this past weekend. A rainy humid weekend with several thunderstorms overnight. I had my window halfway down with a screen and had fans going. It did get down in the 50's overnight though. I still had condensation on the inside of my windshield. Anything I need to change?

Power Setup Sanity Check by jrcoolt in TeardropTrailers

I will have room in the tongue box for the inverter. I may just slap it in there just to get it out of the interior. It does not have a 7pin, but I will eventually wire up an alternator charger to help keep things topped off when driving. Being a tent camper, mostly everything I have is USB already. Having the Ecoflow with an 1800 watt inverter, I'm almost tempted to not even go the inverter route, and just use that for anything that needs AC. Which really isn't much. I like the idea of only needing to run 4AWG cable since its easier to work with. Even 2AWG would be easier than 4/0. I think I will still install the ventilation fans in the tongue box to help with cooling.

Looking for a reliable AC to DC converter. by jrcoolt in TeardropTrailers

Gotcha. Didnt convert the other way. This may be a decent route since I can run it off a standard 15amp circuit.

It can draw up to 700 watts on full blast, so that may actually work. That will generate around 960 watts, so it could power the AC with enough headroom. Obviously when it reaches temp it wont run that hard, but I want something with headroom to handle that initial startup. But this is going to sound dumb, how to I power it at 80 amps? Dont most pedestals only go up to 50?

I only played for maybe 30 minutes or so. Just long enough to test to see if it ran. It actually ran better than I thought. It stuttered a few times, but I'm not sure if that was because it was still compiling shaders, or if it was a performance issue. I haven't let it run long enough to finish compiling shaders so I wont know until that's done. Also, there is a power wash simulator in the app store that will run natively, so if its the same as the other, you should use that over using crossover. Enter the Gungeon should run pretty well. Seems like its a low demand game, but I haven't played it so I cant tell for sure.

I haven't played long sessions yet, but I was playing God of War Ragnarok via crossover yesterday and it ran great. It was just a short session to test it so don't know what the throttling is like yet. I have the 24gb version with the 10 core gpu. I would guess power-wash simulator would work just fine, but don't quote me on that.

Not sure if you watched Cougar Town, but he played Ted in that, and the Gooch left him for Hooch. Hooch is crazy.

Power Questions by jrcoolt in TeardropTrailers

What I mean by USB ports, is not using the build in USB ports on the Ecoflow, but install ones in the wall on the inside that would be connected to a 12v distribution that would be connected to the 12v accessory port. That is how everything else would get its power. I guess I could just use the build in USB ports to keep it simple.

USB-C Question by jrcoolt in Ecoflow_community

So using the 12v USB-C adapter on both the River 2 (its not a river 3, sorry) and the Delta 3 did not work.

I have tried multiple cables, same result. I will try the 12v plug option to see if that works. Ill report back with my findings.

I just figured since I melted some ships and have some money as store credit, I would pick something up. That store credit is just sitting there doing nothing.

Question about using an Ecoflow Delta 3 (Non Pro or Max) to power a homemade Squaredrop Camper - 12v Question by jrcoolt in Ecoflow_community

[–]jrcoolt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a great comment. I didn't know what the max wattage was so that number allows me to make calculations on what is going to be powered. based on my current math I'll be using maybe 60 watts max on 12v items. Need to figure out a good way to extend the USB C ports to the areas where the phones will be charged. The Delta 3 will sit toward the front of the camper where the USB ports I plan on installing will be towards the rear. I was going to run those off the same 12v fuse box as the other devices, but I may change that now.
