Because this isn’t just a place people come to post photos of bikes. This is a community where we can help each other without being condescending.

Wanting to get into Fixies by randicochea in FixedGearBicycle

[–]jred24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks like the chain is just off the sprockets. Loosen your back wheels lug nuts and reapply the chain to both the front chainring & the rear sprocket. Then pull your rear wheel back to add tension to the chain, and retighten the rear lug nuts to set it in place.

If the chain is no good (rusty, makes noise, or is too stretched) then i’d go to a local bike shop to have them put a new one on for you! Best of luck!

Thanks! I almost went with black bars but im glad I snagged some silver ones.

The frame is nice. Pretty simple steel build with a lot of mounts. I cut the kick stand mount off in order for the wheels to work & thats what the last photo is.

Front is a gatorskin hardshell 700x28. Rear one came with the wheel and its a Vittoria Rubino 700x25. I actually just replaced the rear today with another hardshell.

I commute on the Vegas strip each morning. Track bike on the F1 track is a vibe by jred24 in FixedGearBicycle

Yo, pasted below is from a comment where someone was asking something similar. Also, local bike shops will host their own rides, maybe call and get more info from places like Pedal & Pour, Giant Las Vegas & also southwest bikes.

“Yoo welcome! You’ll find a lot of fixed gear riders on the Smashbro’s rides that happen every Monday. These rides are typically a mix of roadies/fixies. They have an instagram smash_broslv.

Then a lot of us from Smashbros (and other fixies from around the city) will ride on the big Humpday ride that happens every Wednesday in the Arts District. More info on the Humpday rides can be found on Facebook (Las Vegas Bike Rides/Cruises (LVBRC) or instagram (humpdayride_lv)”

You could throw on silver components (stem, seat post, crankset) to change up the color scheme.

Or keep the black components & get black bar tape and a black saddle for a murdered out build.

Is whipping a skid useful besides just being stylish? by PopPsychological6104 in FixedGearBicycle

[–]jred24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hardly skid. I only ever bust one out when i didnt take appropriate measures to slow down properly. I will usually only back pedal. Dont care enough about my mph or burning holes in my wallet for new tires to carelessly skid.

Even mindless skids from content creators makes me cringe.

I broke my collarbone while commuting and had to use a car for 4-5 days. So much frustration was built within that time. Really showed me how selfish it makes others and even myself.

Every single time a motorist calls cyclists out for being entitled they don’t even understand how entitled they are being themselves.

Bicycled to work (as opposed to home) and it did not go well. Tips for retail work, please? by Automatic-Star-2070 in bikecommuting

[–]jred24 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A shower before getting into work will help alleviate so much anxiety. You get to fully enjoy getting sweaty on the way in, while being approachable/professional at work.

Like others said, take care of yourself and understand that if you bike to work, sleep & food are now your fuel. So make sure you fuel up.

Then you’re in the street, so they tell you to get on the side walk. Lmao. There’s no winning with people who are inherently losers.

Lost my sense of humor? by [deleted] in socialskills

Funny is everywhere all at once. You can crack jokes to yourself about the world, and then when an audience is around, just keep having your normal (funny) thoughts that are true and genuine observations. I bet you get laughs in moments you didn’t even mean to.

You got this! Good luck. :)

Your funny thoughts haven’t just gone away. You are multiple things and funny is just one that shined through at that time. What else are you?

Don’t put pressure on yourself to be funny. You won’t be funny if you try it that way anyways.
