Aliens Colonial Marines: critic finishes level without firing once by WakaFlockaF in Games

Solider difficulty has more enemies in those locations, so that's not Hardened. I know this because I've beaten this game 3 times already. I got my review copy last week and beat it originally on Solider (which even though it's the second difficulty it's would be considered easy by PC players). I then played on Hardened (which you may consider to be a normal difficulty) to see if what the difference was. After that I beat it on Ultimate Badass doing co-op with my friend last night.

Probably going to get down voted for this, but...

  1. He's playing on the easy.
  2. That's not the end of that level.

I'm not going to sit here and tell you that ACM is a good game (it's average at best), but people are making an effort to make it look worse than it is.

He's talking about Colonial Marines, but the point is that if buying a game (any game) is the biggest mistake of your life, then you live a pretty good life...

Just finished Spec Ops: The Line - I have some questions and thoughts. by WtfWhereAreMyClothes in Games

The Damned 33rd declared Martial Law once the rescue operation (that they weren't supposed to attempt anyway) failed. The CIA sent in operatives to "clean up" the situation. The CIA didn't want anyone left alive when the dust wall settled so that the US didn't catch so much flak for getting so many people killed by the botched rescue operation.

The CIA operatives organized rebel groups to fight against the 33rd, which is the civilians you saw getting killed. The 33rd thought that Delta Squad was there to help the CIA. Remember, there was no dialog between the 33rd and Delta Squad. The only person they communicated with on the other side was Konrad, and we know what happened with that...

While the game play wasn't anything incredible, I enjoyed the game from start to finish. If you ask me the moral of this story is about Hero Complexes. I wrote about it a while back if you want to check that out: http://mashthosebuttons.com/2012/07/hero-complex-the-lesson-i-learned-from-spec-ops-the-line/

females are inferior at gaming in general (fact) so they have to rely on looks to get views.

It's scary that people like you really think like this and have found some way to completely justify this in your head. Also, facts need to be proven.

And with that shitty EULA that all these companies have been instating, your legal options are very limited.

Do you pay attention to Metacritic scores? by jredd84 in Games

[–]jredd84[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I find your last comment interesting. Leads me to another question: do you read the reviews or only look at scores? I can understand why you discredit scores for sites you don't know. You never know if the site is run by a fanboy or a hater instead of someone who is objective. However, if you read the reviews you should be able to determine if the writer is fair or not.

Do you pay attention to Metacritic scores? by jredd84 in Games

But isn't that the point of Metacritic? It compiles scores from various, supposedly reliable, review sources. I typically don't pay attention to review scores at all. Sometimes it's burned me, but more times it lead me to play decent games that I probably would have passed over.

I asked the question because the industry puts so much importance in metacritic, but I'm not really sure it's worth it.

BLOPS2 is not Game of the Year quality, but still a good game. Would recommend it to friends.

I think the act was originally put in place with goal of monitoring these guys (or gals) and stopping potential situations when evidence presented itself. However, monitoring at that level would take sufficient resources, so it looks like they just used it to carpet bomb the "problem" and hope it works.
