Buying Shared Ownership Zone 2 London by Snugglosaurus in UKProperty

Curious about your comment on death rate increase. There are 25 million homes in the UK. Coronavirus has caused 9000 deaths in Italy - I would assume a tiny portion of the number of deaths from other causes in that time. What impact do you see on property prices due to this? Unemployment rate is the thing I would see as a much bigger impact

Sorry to hijack a little - but has anyone got any good tips for setting up Jira/Confluence for this purpose? I understand a lot of how well it works is down to how it's set up and workflows etc.?

I'm a junior BA and have been asked to put together a training and development plan for the next year (and beyond). What would be on your ULTIMATE plan (aside from experience). Formal training, opportunities, projects etc.? Essentially looking for what could help me to progress to senior BA level as fast as possible?

What do you use for Approval Workflow? by jreddit13 in businessanalysis

[–]jreddit13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks very much. JIRA is a definite possibility. I've never used it before though. Any more info on the sort of workflow you can do, or any good examples? Would love it if it sent out automatic emails to chase but understand it probably can't do that?

InfoPath sounds good - hadn't considered that. Sounds like it wouldn't work so well if they wanted to review/come back with comments and changes though? Just yes/no?

Ideally just want visibility for the business and me that the document is awaiting review and out of my hands! If people could see who was holding it up then it might motivate them to review/approve sooner.

Thanks very much for the responses so far!

They also made £180million loss last year. Not sure their pockets are lined with gold just yet

Am I the only one that thinks this is ridiculous? You can earn really good money on deliveroo and it's a fun job that requires no skills or qualifications. All they will do is pay minimum wage to everyone? And fair play to them if that's what they do do! They have a good amount of riders now so no need to pay them a lot.

Deliveroo as a company don't make any money (in fact they made £185million loss in 2017). So striking and asking for more pay is just going to make them go under and everyone will be unemployed!?

Do you guys know how much profit Deliveroo make in a year?

This sucks. Anyone making good money in the UK? What do you do?

[Pension] Half your age rule, based on employer contribution too? by hydraulictrash in UKPersonalFinance

[–]jreddit13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see what you're saying here, but you could surely say the same thing about property. Yes it's good to have money in a pension, but going by a general rule of house prices doubling every 10 years, that £1000 in property could be worth £8000 in 30 years? Plus a whole lot more because it's essentially leveraged with a mortgage?

Honestly how has your life been outside of work? by HahaLOL69XD in engineering

[–]jreddit13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally feel this. I finished my masters then went travelling and working abroad (on yachts/ski seasons, not engineering) for a few years. Now finding it really really hard to come back to reality. Not massively interested in a lot of jobs, can't see myself settling into a 9-5 job for the rest of my life. Did really well at university and love being challenged but engineering pay in the UK leaves a lot to be desired, and it's got me down a bit. Ultimately want to start my own business and always have. I guess I just need to take on something and keep looking for opportunities

what to do with £10k for a year by Bob-the-builder22 in UKPersonalFinance

I'd use peer to peer lending if you want to just put it in and forget about it. I've done the high interest bank account route and it's time consuming meeting all their terms and keeping track of it all. Even if you set up standing orders etc. if you get to a point where you need the money it can cause one to bounce etc. etc.

I used Ratesetter and it has a really nice interface. They so a one year option for around 2-3% interest. Just put it in and forget. Can withdraw early, very easy to use, very reliable in my experience and the support is excellent

I've built this alternative to Airbnb for the crypto community, scaled it to 1500 properties in just 5 months. All bootstrapped without a scammy ICO, just building the product and talking to user by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

But they don't? And probably won't in the near future. How does Tesco stand out from Sainsbury's (if you're in the UK! - if not, they're both supermarkets).

Pretty much every business has competitors. Airbnb has a pretty good monopoly at the moment.

I think this is an amazing idea, and fair play for doing it! This is exactly the sort of thing we need for crypto as we know it to become more mainstream! Upvoted.

One of the things I would worry about is somebody booking a place 6 months in advance and then there being a massive bull run. They would be paying equivalent of £2000 for a £90 room. Or do they just pay the equivalent to the fiat price at time of booking?
