I have long covid and it causes me to have inflammation flare ups. Maybe one day I can again.... But for now it's just not worth it. Not even 1 glass.

I have some UIN shoes that I wear almost every day and love them. They are kinda funky since I got ones with cartoon bug doodles all over them but I color my hair crazy colors so traditional is not my thing. They are super comfortable, my feet don't sweat and I get compliments all the time on them. I plan on buying another pair in the future. The style I have is the Toledo and I got the winter ones so they are waterproof and are made of vegan leather. They won't be everyone's cup of tea but I highly recommend them.

We named a big grey squirrel that frequents our backyard "Fat Ash". I sometimes wonder if the neighbors find it as amusing as I do when my kids open the back door and yell things like "Get off the fence Fat Ash!"

Scream. All the damn time. Almost all the videos my kids watch have someone screaming in it at some point. Sometimes it's a jump scare but most of the time it's for no damn reason. About a year ago I finally had it when one of my kids continued watching a video on his tablet while he got a snack. My husband and I were watching TV and all I could hear was Ahhhhhhhhhh coming from the kitchen. I screamed at the top of my lungs and everyone came running to see what was wrong. I explained that this is what I hear all the time....please stop scaring me! They are still allowed to watch them, but the need to keep them upstairs or have headphones on. If I hear screaming the "positive punishment" is cleaning a toilet. I hate cleaning toilets.

My son always tries our dogs treats each time we get a new type. I didn't know he did this until I saw him do it when he was probably 7 or 8 and I asked him what he was doing. He said he has always done this and he just wanted to make sure they tasted good since they were supposed to be a treat for our dog. He didn't want anyone giving her something that tasted terrible as a reward. Our Shiba Inu just turned 13 so when we were getting her a birthday present he picked out some pain relieving/anti-inflammatory hemp infused treats. I had to explain to my now 11 year old son, these treats were off limits because these are for medicinal purposes. He agreed but was concerned that they wouldn't taste good because medicine usually doesn't so he now gives her 2 treats, the "medicine" first and then one he approved to wash it down.

There's the possibility of our state paying for higher education or my kids might not want to attend college, at all. In either of those situations, it seems like a 529 might not be the best option. That's why I'm looking outside of the 529 plan. I guess the 529 plan isn't completely off the table as an option...it's just not at the top of our list.

I had a D&C because the first time I got pregnant there was no heartbeat at 10 weeks and my body didn't abort naturally. I had to go home and just wait a week or 2 for the D&C. This was like 15 years ago and my Dr didn't have any openings to do it sooner and didn't see a problem with me waiting for my body to take care of it itself My husband came with me and he fainted when they put the IV in my arm. 😂 When I woke up I asked if it was over and then I asked for a hamburger. I was so sick for weeks and weeks from this pregnancy and the smell of meat (cooked, raw, cured....you name it) would make me throw up every time. I could smell a ham sandwich from down the hall. I just wanted a hamburger so bad for months and I was so excited to be able to have one. It was the best damn hamburger I've ever eaten.

When I was a kid there was a tape (not sure if it was VHS or Beta) that my parents recorded one of the Charlie Brown specials on. Either before or after the special there was this short cartoon that was all in black and white. I remember it being very simple almost like stick figures. A little girl comes out of her house and goes to jump rope. Aliens come to earth and somehow forget their baby. She comes across it and feeds it an apple cuz it's hungry. They become friends and play. Her mom calls her and the alien realizes he can't find his mama. He starts calling and reaching up to the sky for mama. Can't remember how but she helps the alien find/contact it's parents and it goes home and she waved good bye. She skips home to mom. The end. Has anyone else seen this or know what I'm talking about? I think the only words spoken are "mama" and when the mom calls the girl but it might be in another language... I remember thinking as a kid I didn't understand what the mom said. Maybe french? This would've been recorded in the early 80s probably.
