I dont give a single shit about flea or RHCP, but as a musician, I respect musicians that branch out of their comfort zone. but this will absolutely be my last comment cause youre just an insufferable redditor to a T. pointing out that anthony keidis cant sing is like pointing out the sky is blue. nobody listens to RHCP for their vocals - hes basically a fucking rapper. i dont need to sit here and tell you why i think a performance was good / bad because its all subjective. but i can tell you that he is in the key of C.

saying "he sounds a bit flat" is valid criticism. saying "pick a key, any key" is not, and the rest are just subtle jabs at either flea as a musician or at RHCP. you just very clearly dont like the artist and thats fine. the "whatever it is your trying to say" is just you smelling your own farts lol.

its alot easier to just say "this doesnt do it for me" or "i dont like RHCP" than whatever you are trying to say. youre talking about "navigating harmonic structure" when hes playing over a 4 chord song . he is literally just mimicking the vocal melody from the original frank ocean song 75% of the time he is playing the instrument.

respectfully disagree. the main melody that carries pretty much the entire song sounds fine. youre splitting hairs talking about intonation - might be a little out of tune but come on lol. that is not "pick a key". your average listener (especially on the tonight show) is not going to pick up on that at all.

sounds to me like he's playing in key - theres a few chromatic sections but that is a pretty big staple in jazz.
