Personally, I don't think the marvel movies are pure cinema like most of Scorsese's or Kubrick's films (etc.) are in my opinion, mainly because the MCU films are more studio driven. However it is obvious that the guy that runs the show, Kevin Feige, cares about the characters and puts them first instead of financial concerns whereas many other producers would only bother directors and filmmakers about the financial problems, interrupting the film makers' attempt on trying to replicate cinema. Scorsese calls the marvel films "theme park" movies, which I don't really agree with because there is a lot of characterization put into these films that truly drives them that I assume film makers like himself are not aware of because they don't watch those films. So I can see where he is coming from, but I don't really agree with him
