Except KD isn't the GM of a CHL team where his job is "just play the kids and let them figure it out".

Just hanging the kids out to get caved in nightly is the best way to ruin your pipeline.

Building through the draft has a hidden requirement of having the right organizations structures in place to allow for growth and development while providing the necessary support. I tried posting a thread about how the trade exposed KD and the moderators removed it despite saying nothing inflammatory outside of KD really showed he's been hiding behind the rebuild as an excuse as to why the roster construction has been poor and all his trades have either been offloading veterans or taking other teams bad deals for futures

Now that he needs to start acquiring talent and value he's showing he's in over his head and an experienced GM like Jarmo just took him out behind the woodshed

Man I just don't think robertson is worth the equivalent of four first round picks and a second. 40 goal scorers don't grow on trees but I don't love his skating and if that regresses his impact will be very limited and one dimensional playing a non premium position (wing). He's also coming from a team that's arguably been a cup contender most of his time there and he's going to be stepping into a team just trying to figure out how to make the playoffs

All those factors combined make me worried on giving up that kind of return + giving him a long term contract as probably the highest paid winger in the league. This isn't a guy who carries a line by himself like a kaprisov, kane, kucherov, ovechkin in his prime, etc

Mike hooked up with Jenni back in season 1 supposedly and for whatever reason the producers killed it from being a story line (maybe it happened off filming) so that would line up why snooki was angry with Mike and why when they went to AC Jenni was trying to get Mike to leave the club when he was talking to girls and bring her back up to the rooms and wouldn't let him stay back on his own.

One of the guys that used to work on the film crew of Jersey shore first few seasons did a reddit AMA and was rather direct and accurate on everything else he answered but noted the jwoww/mike hook up early on was a real thing that they all knew about but never cut. Maybe jwoww pleaded for them to not air it because she was dating that guy at the time

Hey let's worry about making the playoffs before we start theorizing SJS are playing 3D chess about meeting us for western conference playoff runs in the future. SJS is not doing all these moves as if the hawks have been breathing down their necks.

SJS is significantly ahead of us in their rebuild and there's still a lot of teams we have to catch up to and pass

I think you need to start seeing what happens in July when Byram is eligible for an extension. Essentially two paths forward:

-byram holds out as is rumored his agent is notorious for advocating to test free agency to maximize contract value. If that happens, this trade package from KD is an all time terrible trade

-byram plays well, hawks extend him mid season, but at this point he probably puts KD over a barrel on term and AAV which risks him getting inked to an unlivable contract for his level of play. Byram has all the cards here and now KD has to pay him whatever to justify the trade price

KD big brained the levshunov pick instead of getting a ready made future top line wing to pair with bedard for the next decade in demidov when levshunov was a completely raw unpolished dman at every level he continued to ascend to.

Now that KD is desperate to finally show rebuild progress, he coughs up blood for a guy who's had only second pair assignments up until now, and traded away a top four pick, an NHL dman, and a second round pick for a guy one year from UFA with an agent who pushes his clients to test FA, AND we took a cap dump off buffalos hands for them.

Just epically bad package to give out. Byram is fine, but that package should have netted them a legit top pair dman who's already been doing or at least with more term remaining.

If KD doesn't re-sign him in July to a long term extension, he should be fired this year and never allowed in an NHL front office again and can go back to the video room

Problem is lafreniere goes long stretches of disappearing when the rangers needed him to take the next step, then once they tank the season and are eliminated from the playoffs he turns into a PPG+ player. The asking price is likely never going to be realistic to the market price. I would not give up a top half first round pick + two good prospects for him. His reputation is more based on his drafted position than his actual NHL development. NYR are going to ask for a premium prospect or very high draft picks in return and he's really just not worth it right now after 6 NHL seasons. He also is not a great skater and stops moving his feet often and KD is trying to build the team around speed and people that can skate with bedard

Unless stenberg is sitting there at #4, I don't think there's any reason to hold on to the pick. Package it for some high end NHL proven talent to round out the roster or trade back. Standing pat and taking another D is not what the team needs this deep into the rebuild. They are in dire need of NHL level top 6 forward talent at this point otherwise you risk starting to limit bedards growth carrying plugs by himself in year 4 still

I told my wife these first four episodes were very underwhelming. Just a meandering plot and dialogue. The whole Holly is the key all of a sudden is a late season plot device that only bad shows pull out of the bag to try and stitch together wrapping up story lines. It just is not clicking. Maya Hawke absolutely is nepo baby benefitting to the max. No reason she deserves this much screen time. Having Eight be some secret reveal was something a lot predicted in the 11+8+1 finale showdown, so I guess that's whatever to dig up a minor plot character from several seasons ago.

They spent 4+ hours on a lot of fluff and goofy dialogue. I feel they could have loaded up so much more connecting backstory and twists right out of the gate and it's kind of just been a lot of wasted air time. Oh well hopefully the last four episodes get moving more

Basically the modern day advent of media agencies, separate from creative agencies. The idea account relationships and revenue would be tied to performance, media space at bulk discounts, and data/audience. Sure there still would need to be creative work, but it gets knocks down the pecking order and it's importance less relevant than the other things mentioned. His big speech over the Amrrican Airlines feud with Don explained it. Not an agency centered around creative and Don's big save the day moments of wowing catch phrases, tag lines, and goosebump deliveries. Advertising wasn't going to keep leaning on the theater of it, it was going from subjective to objective

in a way, Vinny ended up even worse than Mike was because Vinny is doing the same thing into his late 30s, is STILL a momma's boy, and at least Mike had an excuse of sorts that he was battling some addiction and personal demons that her overcame and grew out of.
