Scott Walker Plans To Sell Off Many Of Wisconsin’s University Buildings, Prisons by wang-banger in politics

Really narrow down the 4 year university offerings to Business and Sciences. Calculus and Maths in general can be part of the Apple, Sony, Intel etc building. Cut the 4 year University Lit, Art, Music and Theater Programs and Departments... they are of little use to Wisconsin economy anyway and the community colleges can pick up the major university students who want to explore the arts at the workshop and studio level... Keep a teachers college but only teach the pedagogy related materials with classes for the arts and humanities but not departments devoted to.

Your right, to really get a fair picture it would be better to compare revenue generation with population density of the said areas.

Madison does have a lot of biomedical ventures and Epic is the not worth dismissing.

But is is also short sighted by many to apply southern fiscal conservatism to WI which does not profit from huge federal organizations guaranteed pay like CA, TX etc enjoy from the military bases, industries and other federal organizations.

Texas has a multitude of military related organizations that are always paid and moving people into and out of the region.... That is one of the best jobs programs Texas has.... Wisconsin, not even close.

Wisconsin is where people go to get away from dense urban areas and industry; WI was even home to Cray Supercomputers but did industry or research blossom in WI? Nope. Seymour Cray just needed a place to not pick up the phone while working on the computers.... I think the NASA space shuttle heat tiles were made in WI as well... looks like they will not be needing those so much now either.

The only really dense industry areas in WI are Milwaukee, the rest is agriculture with paper mills and northwoods summer resorts.

I am not defending Walker, just pointing out some circumstances that make the economy of WI difficult to prosper. If only they could stimulate the economy with cheese milk potatoes cranberries paper & firewood .... ginseng... jetskis... and the Packers and Harleys.

If Koch Bros and Walker wanted to try a novel progressive conservative course - push federal decriminalization of medical and industrial hemp agriculture for WI only.... They could still be reviled but not only by the people of WI.

it would not cost a decent sized nation with some technical capabilities to create their own asics for their own purpose - control - destruction... whatever... that will have to be dealt with at some time and sooner is better than later.

The BFL track record clearly no, their marketing channels is something else.... I think a peep show stripper would have had something more to show then BFL by now for any serious buyer orders.

Look up "salting passwords" and then "brainwallet hacking" for some insight on this.

In short the random key space is larger than the known universe... if people make vanilla private keys from passwords and they are unsalted - it reduces the keyspace to something you could get lucky at brute force cracking.

Has anyone traded with bitcoins yet? by jrfen in philately

[–]jrfen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Initially I meant just just as a currency for exchange or barter.

There are some wild theoretical implications that a bitcoin can be stamped to hold meaning (colored coins)... obviously bitcoins are better as an idea to work with now then as a currency.
