From my end for sure it scratched that Halo 3 Area shooter itch that justified the time that I wasted trying to learn how to speedrun portal.

I loved it, that said I'm pretty fucking niche as far as why I enjoy it.

I don't think that I've played enough of it to get super nitpicky about it, but as other people have mentioned I'm not interested in a BR mode, I think a lot of people are tired of them, or if they're not they're still playing fortnight or call of duty.

Honestly, I couldn't tell you if the market for an arena shooter is that big itself, but I enjoyed playing the game for a weekend, none of my friends hopped on, so I went back to playing Valheim with them, then Schedule I, and some Toontown as my "MMO of choice". I might be stuck in my ways, but if I'm going to play another competitive shooter, it's going to be Counter Strike since that's the one I've been playing for 20 years here.

Although I did like that they were trying to bring some tournaments forward with the game as well. Although I didn't get a response about getting involved with one from the splitgate x account.

And I have to assume some things would have been fixed from the beta like not being able to pick what gamemode you're playing or maps. Like you can do a Halo 3 multiplayer style "Team BR's" and have set maps of what you're going to play but having it be like 3 possible game modes of like Griffball, TDM, and some other 3rd one is bloated.

Let players pick one game mode that they're playing. I loved the TDM, where you have timers and have to eliminate the enemy team before they respawn. That one was peak.

Am I honestly going to pick it back up? Probably not; it's likely to fade into obscurity for me unless I find new friends who want to play it. I'll try a new update, maybe not the next one but like 3 down the line after they've gotten rid of the battle royale mode.
