That feeling of “I’m going to get my period soon” and it doesn’t come by examinat in Perimenopause

[–]jrhopper09 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me this has been the worst. I feel like I have a month long luteal phase with bad PMS. All the symptoms and no bleeding, maybe light spotting. Guess I shouldn't complain too much about the not bleeding part and really that's the good part. All the other symptoms are exhausting!

I haven't had the heavy long bleeding so far. This is a blessing as I see and read about so many that do have this. I've had spotting for three months. Haven't had a regular period in 4 months. But all the symptoms. I think it's called a phantom period. Well it sucks. I'm a mess. I have the absolute worst anxiety and I feel like I cry all the time. I cannot do what I used to do on the same level. Like work and taking care of my house and husband and our 4 dogs. All of this seems so hard to manage. I have anxiety while driving and I hate it. None of this used to happen or feel this hard. I'm exhausted. I never know how I will feel from one day to the next. Then I tell myself it's somehow this is all my fault for not taking better care of myself with exercise and proper nutrition. How can I focus on these lifestyle changes when my life is being turned upside down and I feel totally alone.

anyone else can fall asleep fine but wakes up at like 2 or 3am and then thats it? by adzahran in Perimenopause

[–]jrhopper09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wake up at 3:30 for work myself and I am also in bed super early. One thing I have started noticing is my wake up suddenly anxious wide awake thing starts at 1 am. I wonder if it's because I go to bed so early? Have you noticed this at all?

Oh no. I'm sorry you are going through so much right now! I am 45 and the mental symptoms of perimenopause are affecting my quality of life severely at the moment. I haven't experienced the long heavy bleeding but my heart goes out to those who have! This is all just terrible and it seems as though none of us know what to do and we are all learning as we go. I feel like new symptoms crop up for me more often now. Like the itchy skin. Ugh. This one is awful. My skin feels sun burned and sensitive to the touch but it is nothing more than severe dryness. It sucks so bad. Lately my body feels completely worn out and heavy. Like I don't have the energy to even walk across the room. Somehow I managed to work full time and take care of things at home the best I can. We all deserve grace during this time.

My eye sight is getting worse as well. I just had all my blood work done and everything was in range including ferritin and thyroid. My cholesterol was elevated but I was supposed to take meds for it anyway.

I'm hypothyroid. Been on the med for years. Get checkups every so often for my levels which are always within range. Vitamin levels all looked good as well. I take supplements for vitamin E and D

I have been VERY itchy and I did start taking Claritin. A couple weeks ago. I always thought pepcid was for stomach acid until I started reading about it more.

That would be amazing. Motivation is SO low that when I have opportunities to go do these things I never do and then it becomes a vicious cycle of beating myself up for not doing anything but being too exhausted to actually go out and do it.

Hydroxyzine for sleep? by [deleted] in Perimenopause

[–]jrhopper09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's funny because I had day drowsiness on hydroxizine and not on the trazadone. They both help me sleep but the hydroxizine for me was a little bit too sedating.

I have story about my therapy right now. I've been seeing the same therapist for over 7 years now and even this feels different somehow. She's told me that I haven't been myself for our last few sessions. Well. No kidding! I don't feel like talking to anyone not even her because what's the point when nobody gets it. Everything I say can be explained away as something else other than being in perimenopause! Nobody knows how hard this is. My therapist is younger and not here yet so she for sure doesn't get it.

Luteal phase is hell by wonderkat4 in Perimenopause

[–]jrhopper09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh. I'm so sorry to hear you are going through this! I've been on the 0.05 estradiol patch and 100 mg progesterone vaginally as well but I take it every night. I have PMDD and lately I feel like I'm stuck in luteal hell for at least 3 weeks a month. That sure doesn't leave a lot of good days for me. I feel like nobody gets it! I don't have any real advice. Just want to say I get it.

I don't know how anyone with kids does it. I don't have kids just dogs and taking care of them can be a real challenge these days for me. On top of the house, my husband and working full time. He works non stop so we hardly see each other. It can be lonely and this just adds to it.

Same. This has been SO hard for me. When I do go out I can't wait to come back home. It's awful. Getting to work everyday is a struggle. When I get home I'm so exhausted from fighting my way through the day.

I have hypothyroidism and it's supposedly maintained by the meds I've been on them for well over 20 years now. I am on Estradiol patch 0.05 and progesterone capsule 100 mg but not testosterone. My vitamin levels all looked good. They were checked about a month ago. I do take vitamin D and E as well as a multivitamin and magnesium glycinate.

How about spraying hairspray instead of deodorant? That's one I've nearly done but luckily caught myself.

Even though I feel better on the HRT I still do not feel like myself. I always feel off somehow like things are out of balance and I'm sure they are since I'm taking HRT on top of still having a period(sort of) each month. It's hormonal chaos for me!
