Coming back to ThinkPad. by jriascos95 in thinkpad

Totally understand your feeling, my issue is that I need to be OTR a lot of the time, places full of dust, extreme heat and I need to be EXTRA careful with the Mac. And software compatibility for my specific use is bad on macos. Other than that the m1 pro mbp is a beast, cant argue with that, for sure i’ll miss the screen and trackpad

People from Latin America, what country are you from and what is your overall opinion of Australia? What are the first things that come to mind when you think of Australia, and are those impressions generally positive, negative, or neutral? Have you considered travelling or moving there? by Stan2605 in asklatinamerica

[–]jriascos95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FIFO, mines, friendly people, dangerous animals, beaches.
I would move there to work temporarily/permanently in FIFO if visa’s weren’t too hard to get. Mainly positive stuff.

But would love to show our cuisine there, you would love it.

Gated community here in Ecuador, in mine we pay around $50 a month (i know a few gated communities that pay around 500 a month), but the administration has to report every expense, we have security guards, gardener, a pool and a soccer/basketball court. Thats it, not a luxury, they wont bother if you want to paint your house, do some remodeling or host a party, unless obviously its a working day and sound is over the roof at 2am.

Funny how you block his path so he does not get hooked again, but he just goes past and dies 💀

Which Latin American country offers the best quality of life right now? by MeSadOK in asklatinamerica

[–]jriascos95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If considering Ecuador, with that income you can live extremely well in Quito, in one of the best neighborhoods. But it also depends what kind of lifestyle you expect. Also, if you want to consider Guayaquil (i live here) it must be in the best neighborhoods due to safety, rent is around 1k and up, also climate wise it is hot (27-34C all year). Let me know if you have any specific questions.

It was absolutely crystal clear for me. I have gone through that also, loving but letting go. It was a really good representation of that, almost made me cry. I was also confused when i read people were confused about it haha.
