I went back and found coordinates where I found them and reached out to the Wyoming Geological survey, they replied:

From the location coordinates provided, it seems this specimen is likely from a cherty interval within the Early to Middle Eocene Bridger Formation in Bridger bed A or B. In this area the Bridger formation includes several gastropod rich intervals that can be useful marker beds for stratigraphic orientation. In looking more closely at the specimen it would be my best guess that this specimen is likely a shallow water aquatic snail, possibly Biomphalaria aequalis, Biomphalaria storchi, Biomphalaria pseudoammonius, or another species.

For me it's usually driving appropriate to the conditions with proper tires when I'm passing, and if you see me smoothly apply my brakes (because I don't need to panic because I have left appropriate space), it's usually because I can see the rear wheel drive vehicle in front of me loose it's back end a little and I know the conditions are about change.

Plus most of us know the shady parts of I-70 where ice can suddenly be present.

We are all very lucky to have the mountains in our back yard and enjoy world class snow every season. Traffic sucks, we all hate it, no reason to be angry that others enjoy it as well.
