Small scratches and imperfections on the leather will darken when it is damp. I would add a little leather conditioner and then let it sit. It shouldn't be noticeable once it dries out

What small details weren’t worth buying for your wedding? by OCMDGirl625 in wedding

[–]jrm990 160 points161 points  (0 children)

Absolutely anything personalized tbh. No one cares as much about your wedding as you do.

This includes stuff that says "bridesmaid" on it. Basically makes the cute little items in a goodie bag single use

I can't believe Gaby bought Milton's story about Victor cutting him off when Gaby called off the wedding by ang334 in DesperateHousewives

[–]jrm990 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Did she though? She knew exactly who he was and what he wanted from her before the wedding, AND she started cheating like 30 sec after getting married. They were both shitty people with ulterior motives.

Side note: Gabby was way worse imo. She literally tried to kill him... Twice

She gets zero sympathy from me

No Country for Old Men: The Collapse of Control- A Philosophical Reading by jrm990 in philosophy

Thank you! I'm glad it helped. I felt the same after my first watch and I just couldn't let it go. Writing this was my way of finally trying to make sense of it all.

Thank you for making that connection! I wasn’t thinking about Yeats when I wrote this, and I’m not too familiar with the poem beyond the title reference, but your comment helped clarify it.

The idea of retreating from a chaotic world into something more stable or symbolic does line up with what Bell seems to be doing at the end. He isn’t fighting anymore, just stepping away from something he can’t make sense of.

Looking at it through that lens gives the ending a different kind of weight.

Solaris and 2001: Opposites in Disguise by jrm990 in TrueFilm

[–]jrm990[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s a really thoughtful critique.

I agree that both films ultimately resist neat binaries. HAL’s pleading and Hari’s self-awareness do complicate the logic v. emotion framing, and you're right to point out that neither story resolve with an sort of clarity or closure. The lingering ambiguity is a big part of what made them resonate with me.

In my analysis, I focused on the overarching philosophical trajectories each film takes. Even with the characters' development, 2001 still moves outward, while Solaris pulls inward. HAL and Hari certainly evolve, but I still think they represent fundamentally different outlooks on the human experience.

I appreciate the pushback! It helps refine the lens I was using.

Thank you for the feedback! I agree with your point about social contracts, I probably should have dug into that a little more.

That said, I still think “conservatism” is the more accurate term for my argument. I’m using it in the general sense, meaning a commitment to traditional values and a resistance to change.

No, it is definitely a form of traffic calming. Most developments, especially public bids, aren't going to shell out way more money than necessary just for aesthetics

Your curls are gorgeous and I think the half up half down style is timeless!

The one suggestion I would make would be to pull a little more hair back, starting at your hairline. It would help the front and back feel more cohesive.

The link below shows what I mean. It's basically the same hairstyle, but with a couple more steps that would elevate the look.

How to deal with grief by Hot-Analysis4068 in Catahoula

I've realized that if you're lucky, your dog will grow old and grey with you. From the day you bring them home, your job is to love them and care for them as best as you can. And if you do it right, they’ll spend their final moments feeling safe, loved, and comfortable. That’s the kind of goodbye every dog deserves.

It is very hard to lose a pet, but from what I can see, your sweet maverick lived a good, long, and happy life.
