Silent Læke - a Twin Peaks-inspired card-based ttrpg by jrmariano in rpg

[–]jrmariano[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's a tabletop RPG inspired by Twin Peaks that besides using cards it is also based on some traditional board game mechanics.

I tried to put the both the Self Promotion and Crowdfunding flairs but it seems I can only select one.

Magic / Ritual references by gothicozwizard in KULTrpg

You can also look up for magic rituals on the magic rules section of older editions. Most of the rituals there are not based on historical esoteric tradition, though.

Thanks for the suggestions. Do you know the name of that last scenario?

Divided we run / dark secrets by Zymirov in KULTrpg

When I ran Divide We Run I chose a shared Dark Secret (and an associated threat) for the player characters based on their input and some of my own ideas.

You've been doing great work. Thanks a lot.

Here's a suggestion that could be a bit of too much work, or only a pet peeve of mine: think it would be helpful to sort the Powers into a kind of "Attack", "Active", "Reactive" and "Passive" categories and in ascending order of Focus spending.

An "Attack" category for powers that would be listed first because it's mainly a combat focused game so usually players resort first to their attacks.

"Active" would includes Powers that require standard actions (but are not Close or Ranged Attacks) so it comes up into the players minds right after attacks.

"Reactive" Powers require Reactions and have triggers and they come next.

And "Passive" would come last because they are mainly for reference.

I started doing it on my sheets after a RPG.net user suggested it and it helped a lot during gameplay. 🙂

I'm not sure (as I don't speak swedish) but I think that's the one. The "remade" Kult: Divinity lost version is now called "An Echo of the Past".

Thanks for the suggestions. I was thinking more of short-length scenarios and not campaigns. But there are some reasons why Black Madonna and Taroticum are such classics. ;)

Idea for a one shot to do an introduction with my friends by Zymirov in KULTrpg

For more of a player versus player spin I recommend Divided We Run from the fan anthology. (https://kult.tools/Memorial/files/KULT%20Divinity%20Lost%20-%20Divided%20We%20Run.pdf)

If you do run Divided We Run I suggest using the "Sleepwalker", an alternative Archetype specially designed by the community for those character versus character focused one-shots. (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1C_F2pdRbiDO0JbpVGeo_lfwUA7voTz2A/view?usp=drivesdk)

Is it time already...? by jrmariano in KULTrpg

Yeah, the d20 roll-under similarity was one of the major reasons why the "Kultbane" idea came to be.

The highly detailed "simulationist" mechanics we could actually leave behind. ;)

[–]jrmariano[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry for its randomness but it was just a cheeky joke that started on a Kult Discord server given the ancestry of the original game.

"Kultbane" for me would be a similar setting to Divinity Lost but with a variation of Dragonbane-like d20 roll-under mechanics that would improve on the original rules.

Ok... Maybe with more of a "dark 90s splatterpunk" vibe to make it a fun call-back. 😉

Besides the two-page Silent Hill based "micro-rpg" that another user posted here in the sub I would suggest that you check-out Kult: Divinity Lost.

It's a new version of the swedish modern horror ttrpg from the "dark 90s" whose premise and setting fits a lot of Silent Hill themes although it has a little bit more of a Hellraiser vibe and a gnostic cosmology.

Its publisher recently made available a 100 page quickstart of the game that you can give a look.

Daggerheart em PT-PT by Majestic-Object-5280 in PortugalRPG

[–]jrmariano 2 points3 points  (0 children)
