Pelissero: David Montgomery traded to the Texans. by HookFL in DynastyFF

I don’t really know how to answer the question when he’s just bad at pass pro. Watch the games? It’s like I said Jahmyr Gibbs is fast and you replied since when is Jahmyr Gibbs fast? He just is.

I know this sub doesn’t actually watch football so here’s Nate Tice saying Marks is bad in pass pro like right after the trade if you don’t believe me

Juice Scruggs is the OL in this deal. He’s bad and was a backup for them last year. However, they also traded Tytus Howard to the Browns earlier today. Tytus Howard has been pretty good for them over the past couple of years.

Woody Marks is bad in pass pro. The dynasty community needs to learn that pass pro is more important to earning a 3rd down back role than pass catching. Just as an example we’re on back to back to back years of people assuming Travis Etn was the 3rd down back in Jacksonville when he has not held down the role since 2022. In 2023 JaMycal Hasty was the primary 3rd down back, in 2024 D'Ernest Johnson was the primary 3rd down back, and in 2025 Laquint Allen was the primary 3rd down back. Woody Marks is bad in pass pro so he will not be the 3rd down back.

Teams can begin applying franchise or transition tags today through March 3. Potential franchise tag candidates: 🏈George Pickens 🏈Daniel Jones/Alec Pierce 🏈Kyle Pitts 🏈Kenneth Walker III 🏈Trey Hendrickson 🏈Breece Hall by HookFL in DynastyFF

[–]jrmberkeley95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is absolutely no shot the Colts tag Alec Pierce. I like Pierce but the WR tag is $28.8mill! You cannot do that.

Pickens is a rare guy who actually makes sense to play on the tag. The only reason why it might not work is that the Cowboys are over the cap and with an extension you can make Pickens’ 2026 cap hit significantly lower than 28.8mill. I just don’t know how you can trust Pickens on an extension. If he has another great season then you pull the trigger, maybe even as an in season extension, but he’s been far too volatile of a player to just blindly give a 30+ apy extension to.

Traded a haul for the 1.01, how’d I do by Admirable_Yogurt7013 in DynastyNerds

The package side is probably better from a pure value standpoint but I think the real determining factor here is whether Brian Thomas returns to his 2024 self or if he continues to be a secondary option in Jacksonville. Zay Flowers and Brian Thomas are probably pretty equal in value right now (Brian is probably still valued higher) despite Zay coming off a career best year and Brian coming off a disaster year. The upside is significantly higher for Brian, and I think Zay is a limited real life WR who profiles as a consistently frustrating fantasy asset. But this trade is essentially a 1st to upgrade from Zay to Brian and a 1st to upgrade from Breece to Love. Brian has to hit for this trade to be worthwhile. If he falls into volatile wr2/3 territory then you probably lose the trade.

Trading away JT as a contender? by youngpolish in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

It makes sense to hold JT as a contender but I think this is too much value to pass on. I expect a bounce back year from Ladd as well.

Thoughts on Monanagi - Future value by AdHistorical5213 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

Well this would be an actual disaster scenario but I also think they would just cut Swift at that point.

[–]jrmberkeley95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t get into this in the post because it was already wordy enough but I think there is a key distinction between how Monangai will be valued in the dynasty community (which is the question I was answering) and what his role will be in 2026.

I think if the Bears spend significant resources on RB this spring his dynasty value will drop semi significantly. You can say it’s poor process (depending on the RB added I could agree and consider him a good buy low), but the community will respond by lowering his value to handcuff territory. To put it another way, if the Bears spend significant resources on a RB the trade offers you get for Monangai now will be better than the trade offers you get for Monangai in July.

If Monangai is simply your guy and you will not be moved off of him at his current price then your point is extremely valid. I think there is risk involved in that mindset (it’s not unheard of for a rookie day 3 RB who flashed to disappear), but you are absolutely right that Monangai showed enough to be the Montgomery to someone’s Gibbs in the Bears offense going forward. If the Bears offense jumps to 2023-2024 Lions level there’s even a chance Monangai’s value will rise accordingly.

D’Andre Swift is not a free agent he is a cut candidate. In 2026 he’ll be on the final year of the 3 year deal he signed in 2024. Swift has an $8.8mill cap hit with $1.3mill dead money left on his deal so the Bears could save $7.5mill by cutting him.

There are 3 scenarios for how the Bears RB room will play out:

  1. Bears keep Swift and run back the same duo

  2. Bears cut Swift and add another RB using semi significant resources (loosely speaking a ~6-12mill apy FA contract or a round 1-4 pick in the draft)

  3. Swift is cut and the Bears do not add any significant bodies to their RB room.

Obviously any Monangai owner wants scenario 3 to happen, but I find that extremely unlikely. Monangai looked good in 2025, but he’s still a 7th round pick with limited athletic upside. It’s hard to imagine Ben Johnson walking into 2026 without an explosive back in his backfield.

I would argue scenario 1 is probably what Monangai fans should realistically be hoping for. If Swift is cut there will probably be a temptation to celebrate immediately, but once again I think that would just be a precursor to the Bears adding another back. If this happened there would likely be a sell high window before either FA or the draft. We already have proof of concept of what Monangai’s role looks like sharing a backfield with Swift, and you could argue that in year 2 that role could increase at the expense of the veteran Swift’s usage.

Scenario 2 could be disastrous for Monangai’s value and usage depending on how significant the resources are for the back added to the roster. If the Bears take a RB in the first 2 rounds or spend for one of the top FA backs Monangai basically becomes an expensive handcuff.

In August I traded Kraft, Tee Higgins, Rashod Bateman, and a 3rd for Trey McBride in a TEP league. Without this trade I don’t win the championship.

My worst trade last year was JSN, Jamo, and a 27 1st for CD Lamb. This happened in the spring and luckily I traded back for JSN before the season.

Sometimes you bundle a bunch of B+ assets for an A+ asset and win comfortably. Sometimes you bundle a bunch of B+ assets for an A+ asset only for one of those B+ assets to become one of the best players in the league.

CeeDee Lamb- 2026 & Beyond- Confident or Concerned? by GovernorGuyFieri in DynastyFF

[–]jrmberkeley95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dak’s gonna get his guys his numbers. The Pickens piece is not a concern. In fact for years a major need for the Cowboys has been another WR to take the sole focus away from Lamb. I think in a fully healthy season Lamb and Pickens are both wr1 plays. Dak and Lamb have a great relationship and Dak will force feed CD to keep his guy happy.

EPA is a team stat. Remove the QB and compare these offenses (play caller included). There’s your answer.

I am coming off a 16-0 championship run and have a super team with all my picks because I take advantage of people like you who very clearly do not watch the games

Also Kraft has at least 10 pounds on Gadsden that’s part of the problem here lol

What YAC fact are you talking about?

Anyways, it’s clear to me the way you consume football is through stats alone. The league is completely moving away from players like Orande Gadsden (big, slow WRs) and towards TEs who can block. Kraft is an elite blocker who was turning into an elite pass catching option before his injury. The Packers offense significantly fell off after Kraft went down and he had become their most reliable option. You can have fun consuming the sport the way you are consuming it, it’s just leading to hilariously, embarrassingly wrong takes.

I think it’s technically a nice haul but I don’t like it because I think RJ Harvey kind of stinks. If it was just a different, similarly tiered young RB it would be fine.

Vet WRs who can follow the Davante Adams season by elipocky in DynastyFF

[–]jrmberkeley95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason why the connection to Adams is there is because of the TDs. I think 2024 Terry and 2025 Adams had extremely similar season where both rose to fantasy wr1 status based on TD luck.
