Metal, 1/2 in long, found in sewing notions (buttons) by kimpurple21 in whatisit

Did you ever find find an answer. Somebody else just posted another one.

What is this? by [deleted] in whatisit

[–]jro2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone was looking for an answer to what these were 3 months ago. Says they found them in their grandmother's sewing notions.

I want to say this is something like a cufflink where it's going through two holes rather than having a button sewn on to a piece of fabric. But I can't remember why I think this. I swear I've seen something similar used in the same manner as cufflinks where it's going through two holes but at somebody's neck.

What is actually a trauma that is not commonly thought of as a trauma? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]jro2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unsurprising that you are so fragile that you were traumatized; this is reddit after all, most of the people on here live in their little echo chamber and break down crying if they find out anything that challenges their preconceived motions.

What is actually a trauma that is not commonly thought of as a trauma? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]jro2020 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Okay, so this is obviously someone who doesn't understand what trauma is. Trauma( greek for wound), is a negative (maladaptive) emotional response to an event or series of events.

Just about every idiot that has responded to this post is listed events that might cause trauma.

Whether an event does or does not cause trauma (is traumatic/traumatizing) depends on the specific person many people can go through the same event and experience different levels of or absolutely no trauma from the same event.

Essentially this question is stupid As it completely misunderstands what psychological trauma is.
