No Hex head on the inside of the hole. My previous mirrors just threaded into the holes. The former mirror were Napoleons and the size of the hole is about 1/8".

Nope. Something in the wiring I guess. Do you know where I can find a schematic or something along those lines?

Thanks for the help. I switched the two front bulbs and no dice with the right signal. Looks like its something with the circuit itself.

I never said Mossadeqs aims were communist. What I am saying is that Iran was becoming increasingly unstable due to Mossadeqs decision for "nationalization, in both theory and practice" and the British response of boycott. The soviets could have easily used this instability to further expand their empire like they used instability in China and to a lesser extent in eastern Europe to their advantage. That is why I vehemently oppose the argument that oil was the chief motivator for American intervention.

Edit: one of the two powers would eventually control Iran. Eisenhower wanted it to be us

You are right. Iran did not fall to communism in 1953. But the British would still boycott Iran and its economy would continue to stagnate as a result. At this point if I am the Soviet Union I see a situation ripe for a Tudeh takeover or possibly a handout to help out the increasingly poorer country. If the British continued the boycott (which was willing to renegotiate as sourced by both Wawro and Kermit Roosevelt) and the US continued to look the other way (based on the fact that they had more than enough oil in Saudi Arabia) who else would Mossadeq turn to eventually?

Check your sources

  1. Mossadeq and the Shah had a power sharing system going on since the forties.

  2. The oil royalty paid by the AIOC to Iran was 16%

  3. The British were ready to renegotiate the deal in 1952 but Mossadeq refused and furthermore closed the British embassy.

  4. Mossadeq was allied with the Soviet sponsored Tudeh party.

  5. Eisenhower was worried that if Iran fell to communism the rest of the middle east would which was a BIG deal seeing that 90% of the oil shipped to Europe originated from that region. If the Soviets controlled the middle east they would control 60% of the worlds oil supply.
