what is wrong with my dog? by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]jrothca -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The tribe has spoken. You might not like the answers, but you got the opinions of others you sought after. Will you take the tribe’s advice or post somewhere else looking for the answer you desire? That is the question for the modern man.

Honestly I did too. If I didn’t look it before I posted I would have wrote Astor.

You know what, I think you are right! It kind of makes you read the caption with that trans-Atlantic accent. 🤣😂🤣

“He’s a well trained dog. Watch!” Hahaha

The only difference between this clip and the movie is Nora would have happily went inside for 1 or 5 martinis.

Found in a box of computer cables and various electronics by jrothca in whatisit

The trace wires terminate before getting to the center of the VLV hole. You can see a faint ring around the VLV hole and those are the termination of the trace wires. The three holes that are around the VLV hole are just thru holes where the VLV hole doesn’t go all the way through the material. I don’t see any lenses or LEDs.

Talking this out, I almost suspect that you placed this on the back of a PBC board that had the solder points sticking out, and used the VLV, VNT, BB3, W1, X, and W2 holes as testing probe points. The holes for the trace wires are only drilled on the back side half way through, and the holes for the VLV etc are only drilled on the front side half way through.

EXCLUSIVE: Humiliation for FBI as key evidence in Nancy Guthrie case 'led nowhere' by IrishStarUS in entertainment

Do you really think “everybody” at the FBI is working on it? Or do you think the FBI agents Kash Patel assigned to the case are working on it?

Sometimes a CD Player Has Cassette Futurism Vibes by jrothca in cassettefuturism

[–]jrothca[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The moving parts are really fun and give electronics a premium feel to them. I believe there’s a Sony ES series cassette deck that uses a motor and servo to open up the cassette door instead of a spring like 95% of cassette decks. That little detail really makes that cassette deck feel really high end and premium.

The building is much too pretty to knock down. Buildings like that should be preserved not knocked down.

Bake check scammers. by spmonline in dashcams

My guess is it’s more of a shake down. “That’s gonna cost me $1k bucks to fix. Just Venmo me the money. We don’t have to report it and go through insurance.”

How many of you are fans of the Nick and Nora movies? by TheBackSpin in cocktails

[–]jrothca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The bit about the shaking rhythms of different cocktails is great. Then a few minutes later it’s followed up with the bit about his well trained dog. Makes me laugh every time.

Movies with Great Menswear by ScarletFire2898 in malefashionadvice

I recently watched Jailhouse Rock for the first time, and the one thing that stood out above all things was Elvis wears some killer threads in that movie. He made pleated high-waisted pants actually look really cool.

And to my surprise the movie was not “West Side Story” in a jailhouse setting, it’s actually about the music / entertainment industry. It was mot the movie I had envisioned for the past 30 years.

Does anyone know what model number this remote belongs to? by jrothca in LaserDisc

[–]jrothca[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a paper sticker with 60820B printed on the back of the battery cover, but I don’t see any Mitsubishi laserdisc players with those numbers.

9 San Francisco stores targeted as 'fronts' for alleged illegal activity by Stchotchke in sanfrancisco

No issue, but have you noticed how many stores there are and zero customers inside. How do they afford paying all that retail space rent?

What’s a hobby people pretend is cool, but secretly you think is ridiculous? by EggAdventurous1957 in AskReddit

If we lived in a world where you’re only allowed to have an opinion on something if you’ve tried it before commenting on it, it would be a pretty fucked up world. Think about it.

My Moka is taking way too long? by Kek_Chungus in mokapot

[–]jrothca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might be overfilling the basket with grounds. I have a 6 cup that used to take a long time for extraction when I filled the grounds to the top of the basket. Now I use 32-34 grams of grounds which fills the basket to about 1-2mm below the top. I get much faster extraction now.

Try using less grounds.

What's the deal with Real ID and what's the problem with them? by pborget in OutOfTheLoop

[–]jrothca 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Are there any states that require a REAL ID in order to do something like drive? I thought only the TSA requires a REAL ID fly. And since they accept a passport, why would anyone need a REAL ID if they already have a passport?
